here a nice and tidy 1991 wessie with a 3 in front of the price:

so another reason for NOT buying any robin.

Blimey that certainly looks a good buy! 1991 140bhp 1.7 Westie for £3750!

i think its a "normal" buy..it would even be ok asking 4k...but definately not more.

the horsepower is a bit on the optimistic side...

anyway...thats what i meant in my ostings above that westfields in that price range pop-up frequently...and even those cars are often advertized for weeks...

Be interesting to see what the chassis and running gear are like. I'm not for a moment saying RH is as good as a Westie but they can be regularly bought for £1700 less than even this Westie. If you're on a budget that's a huge amount of wedge...

If you simply want a 7 style car because you like the look of them, I suppose the saving could be justified. If you are buying a 7 for the usual reasons (performance, handling etc.) then you are simply wasting your money.

this one had a buy now price of 1550,-pound

even its on the cheaper side... but honestly any robin that age should be bought for not much more.

New ones, The Zero, is no different to any 7 type kit, it works, it has few issues.
A lot of kit building is down to the builder.
I built a monocoque Robin Hood and passed SVA first time because I built it properly.
I have seen other supposedly Good kit cars built very badly and other difficult kits built to suprisingly good standards.

comparing all the (old, sierra based) RH cars i have seen, with even a scruffy westfield...i would always buy the neglected westfield..as the base is ok!!

it doesnt help to built a RH correctly, as the kit already comes with some major design and suspension problems which the usual homebuilder will NEVER solve...and it finally still remains a RH....

we are talking here about RH not GBS..which are totally different cars
