does anyone know how much would need to be done to a car that currently has something like a 2.0 pinto, to make it more like the dirt throwing racer with a Chevy style engine ?

What would be the cost implementation, and would there be other sides to the car I would need to also change at the same time ? eg suspension, exhaust etc ?

Thanks for all the help so far !!!

If you really want a V8 powered Cob then that's what you should start with. By the time you'd converted a 4-pot job it would probably have ended up costing as much and taken a lot of time and work.

just want to add my 2pence worth into this. I have a Dax with a 3.5 EFI rover in it. During the summer a mate and i drove to our local meeting. On the way we got a bit carried away and it turned into a race. His dax has a 300+bhp chevy engine from a corvette, EFI etc. Mine is also EFI but it had 200+ bhp. He only just crept away from me during the straights, and i mean only just, and during the corners i caught him up, mind you i have wider tyres his are 15" 235 mine 17" 255. He was so amazed hes ordered new heads, intake etc, etc, to get more power. Im in the middle of supercharging my engine, 300+ bhp then, so we'll have a rematch next summer and I have a feeling it might be me leaving him behind!! We will see,
Phil
