Hi there Teacherman

I have no body yet - so cant help with the lights lol ! - or the doors !

The MX5 lights were used by one guy who totally fabricated his own kit - dont get this mixed up with the Auto Speciali kit or the Fiero kit.

Vindicator cars - are now the marketing company for Auto Speciali who have full rights to the kit. I would attempt to contact Vindicator cars for more info on the lights at this point.

The Facebook thing - we have not started a group yet. - I think i will look into starting one soon.

Keep in touch. - Everyone has a bit of knowledge that is useful to someone else.

Best regards

carnut

Daft question about the lights - should have realised that one from the earlier postsrolleyes

Has anybody tried to fit electric windows to the earlier models of the roadster as I would rather do a major mod like that before painting the doors, etc, but it looks a bit complex. Particularly - did you get your own glass made or use a mechanism and glass from a donor car (Ford Escort Mark 5 has been mentioned somewhere)?

Also anybody tried IVA with a Roadster/GT2 yet - I would be interested on the feedback - especially if you used the Auto Speciali Fuel tank and rear light cluster.

Cheers

Hi,
My name is steve i live in wolverhampton and I have got a RT10 replica which is complete and am tidying it up (bought cheap off ebay lol)and im currently building the GT2 kit which is at the rolling chassis stage. I can help with some questions you may have as I knew Keith kirk and simon at bromsgrove and bothered them quite alot with questions etc. I have been in contact with John @ vindicator cars also to find out where the company is heading. You can contact me on stevenjohnreynolds@yahoo.co.uk with any questions you may have. We can all help each other and get these cars on the road. Cheers Steve

Well - Dad has progressed on a lot further since i last updated this thread. The engine and hybrid MT75 box have been fitted into the rolling chassis. the propshaft has been shortened and fitted. The radiatior has been mounted. Now slowly the wiring is being sorted.

And on to some more great news -

I have been informed that Vindicator Cars - have now got the moulds for the Dodge Viper Replica from - Auto Speciali. Take a look here -

http://www.vindicator.co.uk/pages/models.htm#model...

Please refer all sales, PR, spares and technical enquires to John Butler on 07703 289833 or via email to john@vindicator.co.uk

07703 289833 / 07886 177531

Im wondering will they be building their own demo model on site. - It would be a great idea to do - as it would mean they have first hand experience of the product and its niggly problems they may come across. Certainly would invoke confidence in the company and this particular kit car product.

Well - heres wishful thinking and hoping Vindicator cars stick with it for the long haul. Best of luck guys - i cant tell u how genuine i mean that - i really hope it works out so well. !!

.......i hav chosen to use a v8 from a TVR along with the t5 gearbox.

anything i should be aware of from the start.......
Using the different engine will result in you having a 'Q' plate registration.
Some people don't like Q plates so It could affect sale price in the future.
Myself I just see a Q as an opportunity to choose the best bits to use in your build.

Are you sure Steve?
The last time I looked you only needed 2 of the 5 major items to have come from the same donor vehicle to get an age related reg number.
Assuming the:-
Axles.
Suspension and,
Steering. are all Granada this build should be fine for an age related reg.
Alternatively if the TVR engine and box are from the same TVR then the reg from this could be used as the donor, so long as the TVR is no longer being used (With a replacement engine and box fitted).

Well the above project has changed hands. I am still looking for a body. I thought I had found one but I didn't need the whole project and I just missed out. Anyway I am in the middle of checking all torques and mechanical fixings so they comply with the current iva manual. Next thing is to remove the asmatic ford v6 for a tvr/rover v8. Anyway i know this is a relatively unsupported car with the rights recently moving from vindicator to an unknown company who I believe are recreating the kit with a BMW 3 series donor but as of yet I haven't heard of them. Again if anyone else is building one feel free to get in touch. I might add that this isn't my first build I have a 2.0 zetec Westfield in the garage too but I do love the viper.
