Does it really matter that Vince has chosen to produce the Python in Sri Lanka? After all he is reviving a DEAD British Kit Car that nobody else wanted!

glad you see it that way,and i am trying to get the people that dont want a huge engine car and all the costs that go with it and get "NEW" people into a truly british past time and love of KIT CARS !

Surely what matters is the fact that Vince has taken on the Python and, it will still be an available option to anyone wanting to build a kit in the UK. Most of the rest of the parts for the build will still be sourced and bought in the UK! Regardless of where they were manufactured.
It will be SVA'd, registered and taxed in the UK, so,as such it will be a British Kit Car.

and Ex Biker stop bating him as gives me loads of typing!!!

just my point is if it is "truly brittish " there should be only british part! as where do you draw a line ? 10% 20% or 50%.

Ah, then no car can surely have a definitive nationality any more. I can't believe that ANY manufacturer makes all the bits for their car in ONE country.
USA maybe......
Any suggestions?

One could argue this point anyway u like. However, because of so many variables a truly Brit car should and must be designed and built in Britain BUT must always have been built here, so a Nissan can NEVER be British (bloody stupid to say so anyway, and daft headings like, for arguments sake, on the cover of Autocar like: Britain's Best Handling Car and then find it's a Mitsubishi or whatever, don't help). On this I would add the Dare G4 (but then I would! - how many other Brit sports cars have survived this long - 1959 to date - yet still "look" identical to the original idea?

Oooowww . . . I do like to start something then move back from the argument.

Ferg, Thanks for including the Marlin in your list of 'British'.

I could see the debate getting down to the brass tacks. Well more like the Taiwanese rivets and Indian seat cloths. Does show one thing: For any business to succeed it needs to be willing to look internationally for products and components. Otherwise it is likely to stay a small scale venture.

Just going off on a slight tangent - it continues to amaze me that GB is riding high in the top ten world economies and yet we seem to be making/manufacturing less and less each year ?
