Alternator belt from Subaru dealer £20 something plus VAT?!
Went to a local parts place and picked one up for £12!
Power is v good but at top end of revs the spark is being blown out so need to upgrade the ignition apparently. All the same it is proper rapid

The plan would be to save some pennies and then:
Upgrade the ignition and remap to approx 400bhp (that will be plenty for me for sure)
Get the carbon door inserts
Replace the brake kit
Get a soft top
Install some speakers.

A hose and a belt is not stuff I mind really, especially the belt. The hose was just unfortunate that it had flipped over and rubbed on the belt. Messy but covered by AA.
Stuff like wrong diffs, power steering that blew all the hoses as soon as the steering wheel is moved, parts not bolted back on properly, bits missing once the car has been to a location for work and being charged twice for transport is the bit I find smarts a little.

Moral is definitely to find the right place to get work done!

It is a bit loud but I do have a cheap'n cheesey stereo unit already in so I can have a clock!
I know less than nothing about stereo units and don't listen to much music but traffic reports are handy so I will probably go to some local place and get something cheap. A big fancy unit will be totally wasted on me!

For sure. I don't think you guys have even seen my car have you.
Perhaps while it was at Rowleys?

Well I am on the third week of 400 miles in a week and this morning I heard something bounce of the bottom of the car. I stopped and picked up a warm and oily bolt but don't know if it came from the car in front or from mine. I can't find where it goes so I am really hoping it is either not mine or not important!
I can report that as a commute it is fun. The ride on some really bad roads may be a little too 'informative' though.

Roll on the development of a lovely soft-top!

Ha ha. Nope checked that! Too small for that anyway. Hoping that if it is small it won't matter so much!

Need to get a soft top then trip down through France along the south coast and then down one side of Italy and back up the other, through Switzerland and some nice passes then back home for tea and medals. That is my plan. Don't know if the car knows that yet!

Here is some good news for you then:
Went out on Sunday for a little run and had a good play with some bikers (on a private road obviously). They were going nowhere, we had a great time - really good lads.
I can also report that the standard STI type RA brakes on a Murt will fade if you try hard enough!

It does seem that earthing is an issue - I think mine has some earthing gremlins going on every now and then.
Going to try and find a solution, Graham mentioned an 'Earthing Kit' does anyone know of a good one?
I am imagining a length of cable and some connectors, is that right??

Love evening/night drives with top off, few tunnels, bikers to play with etc.

How did Arden do at Santa Pod? - anyone got any specs and times?
I see Steve had a play in the rally car too - looks like we are all getting competetive now!
I am desperately trying to get £ together for some sprints!

Cross country commute will be more fun in the winter when you can see headlights around the corners!
Just been looking at this:

Getting to the end of my cleaning stuff and am tempted, the only problem is that I have more paint chips than paint left!!!
Still no point in having it and not driving it.

I still have electical gremlins, radiator fans have gone from hormonal to just plain on strike. As long as there is no slow traffic all is well. Makes for a more interesting commute!
