Have to say that the only mods in terms of power I would make to mine are to make air-intake straighter. Certainly has plenty of power for me - I can't afford any more underwear at the mo!
Also impressed by mpg with the 6 speed box.
The only serious upgrade that is needed is to the driver!

Mpg on old box vs new; no idea at all - I have yet to get through an entire tank of fuel without giving it extensive large with the pedal on the right!!
New dash; I have seen it and it reminds me of the old Subarus before they were popular (in a good way). I liked it but am quite happy with what I have for the mo.
Jase - when I get a job I will probably talk to you about changing the airflow situation a little but until then I will live, mostly cos it is still so damn quick!
Class for sprints; I spoke to a scrutineer who said I should just be in 4wd (I am pretty sure that is with Land Rovers right??) my class will consist of Subaru and Mitsubishi I think. On the good side I weigh way less than them on the bad side some of those boys can really drive and have HUGE testicles!
I have a Toad alarm and use Adrian Flux which is cheaper than the VX220 I had by quite a lot!!
I am going to try and get in to the Borough 19 sprint at North Weald on the 14th of March. Will let you all know how I get on if it is not embarrassing!!!

I think that it is very unfortunate that things turned out as they did for Adrenaline because on paper and when driving their product it is surely a winning formula. This huge recession has seen hundreds of companies go under and Adrenaline was one of them but I would absolutely prefer to deal with Neil than ANY Vauxhall or Citroen dealer for sure. Bad timing sucks!
I think one must bear in mind that Adrenaline was a small company striving to build a product in a harsh market. I have their product and it ticks boxes in so many ways for me, as I have always said I wanted a car that was mechanically together but not quite finished so I can still do piddley little things, and that is what I have and I am very happy I chose that way.
If I wanted a boring euro-box that had no driver input or feedback I would be driving around in one. Instead I have a 4wd open top sports car that inspires massive confidence, is utterly different to other machines and will utterly obliterate most of them.
A few are quicker, but cost more in either money or commitment for year round driving e.g. Zonda or Caterfield7.
Many are more practical but have no where near the performance, my chipped Octavia vRS was great (I would have another again with no hesitation) but I think I would get to 100 in the Murtaya before the vRS got to 60!
As a vehicle I see the Murt as a REAL bargain, sure I could get an Impreza like everyone else and upgrade it but I, personally, like to be a little different. I had a VX220 instead of an Elise and loved it, I love my Murt more.
If you have a Murtaya the only problem you have is NOT driving like a complete t**t and spanking it off the lights or belting around a roundabout way too fast at 3 in the morning in the wet, there is NOTHING else I have found that makes you really feel like Loeb or Hirvonnen. Other stuff that is faster will punish you with EXTREME prejudice!
Drive it on snow and then compare it to ANYTHING else!

Noise - spot on and something I would NEVER have considered before. 10/10
Performance - so far unbeatable. 10/10
Confidence inspiring - makes me feel like a child, at every corner it feels like it is saying that 10mph more would not hurt.10/10
Feedback - not as raw and obvious as the VX's or Lotus but still very good indeed and way better than any other front or 4WD I have tried, strangely subtle. 9/10
Practicality - No probs for me so far at all, better boot than Elise or VX, good sound when it closes too! For me 10/10
Individuality - Have you EVER passed one? Get someone to open the door or tell you what it is. 10/10
Timescale - everyone seems to talk about this so far . Having worked with small companies and small projects before as well as big ones the unwritten Pi rule applies, everyone uses this, the deadline given to you is multiplied by Pi to get what is the latest time this will be delivered by. My car was delivered well before this so I am chuffed! 10/10
Looks - there are people who think the Gallardo is ugly, irrelevant.

For the price I am very sure there is no more effective weapon that you can live with day to day.
All in all, it is a two seat kit car, nothing comes close for me, I have one, it is my only car.

A snowboard in deep powder does EXACTLY what you imagine it will do and you float down the hill in perfect arcs. The Murtaya in the snow behaves in a similar way - the back comes around exactly like you think it will, when you think it will.
I have not had the testicular fortitude to try this on wet public roads but I would guess that the same holds true here too.

Tried my hand at detailing today... car is still in one piece so not too bad!
Rinsed
Shampooed
Rinsed
Dried
Clayed
Polished
Wiped off
Buffed
I don't think I chose an aggressive enough polish as there are a few swirls left but I guess it is better that way than the other and having no paint!

Jase - I know, I know, half a job!
Never done that before and putting an orbital sander on the paint was bloody worrying but followed relevant advice and it was easier than I thought, especially gauging when the polish had broken down.

Detling - might try and get to that this year to look for some odds and sods, got a couple of ideas for things I want to do to the car.

My headlights are ace, indicators work, boot sounds like a Golf, G-Force makes passengers grey out, guess it depends on the build but it defo has potential to shame cars valued at 3 times the price.
I see the kit as serious potential if you can build cars, I imagine Jase is going to have a really evil bit of kit once he has finished.

Yeah no probs Eddie, pm me.
I see the Murtaya as a Subaru but with kit-car/low-weight car issues/benefits. I did not want a totally finished car so I am happy to piddle about with little bits of trim etc. I don't know what it would be like to specify a 'finished' vehicle.
I had a specific budget with an accepted intention of spending x in the future on upgrades and was prepared for this e.g I have had nothing done to the original brakes but they will not last for ever so I intend to upgrade when they die.
I imagine that one I have finished piddling about then you could copy mine with no bother at all and have a finished article (to my spec), but that is not what I wanted originally, I wanted mechanically fine but otherwise not entirely perfect and for me what I got was spot on. It means I can drive about but I get to decide how to finish the gear gater, speakers, etc.

Trying to get some perspective:
I have a car that I can drive in all weather including the silly snow we had recently, it has heated front and rear screens and will hit 60 in less than 3.5 seconds, costs less than £50k AND has a boot.
Mines a Murtaya whats yours called?

That is what I heard, would love to see that!
Can't wait to see how it went!
Will be interested to see how how it goes on Sun at North Weald with all the Scoobs and Evo's, etc. Can't help feeling that my 'talent' may bring it down a few seconds!

Jase - more power?! Obviously not going to say no but I might have to go shopping for even more resilient underwear!
After seeing the pics I might move my number plate onto the bottom of the clam and off the front grill - nice idea that.

"Had 1st "off" in murt yesterday good luck rather than good skill saved paintwork, backend missed tyrewall, front came to rest v/close to armorco, defo need new underware! Got me thinking how much of a impact will tub take, before unrepairable? and how easy is it to repair and who would repair it,ie does it have to go to Norco.Play safe boys it could get very expensive!"

I was going to put something derisory in a humorous way of course, however that would just mean I stuff mine next time I drive it so, on a more sensible and karmicly sound note - what did you do?
I found driving mine in the snow made me feel like Hirvonnen (like Loeb but a human!) it all felt so controllable and easy and was looking forward to having a play in the wet or dry on a sprint or track. Does it bite? Cos mine just kind of nibbled in a naughty, but fun way.
