a question from a most likely ill informed person (me...)
is the murtaya kit still available?
i went out in the factory demo once and promised myself id build one, then circumstances dictated it would not be possible, and without wanting to read all 130+ pages of this thread just to find out in the end it isnt availble now would be a waste of time, however if it is id gladly read it all.
cheers

The Murtayas are still being sold; talk to the guys at Murtaya Sports Cars Limited: www.murtayasportscars.co.uk/
Now look away if you're interested in a Murtaya. THIS IS ONLY A JOKE--I'm still loving the entire Murtaya process and am REALLY looking forward to finally getting it. I just had to jump on this new mime bandwagon going around:
The car has now made it through the snow back to the body guy's place to have a few final details finished up.

LOL that's really made me laugh - -just as well because that is a much better emotion than crying!!
Are you getting the doors looked at Mike because if I'm honest if the thing was easier to get in and out of with the roof on I might have "invested" a little bit of money into it and kept it?

very good mike lol
my doors have started playing up if shut to second catch remote control will now not open but can open using button inside car, emergency door opener or long srewdriver but cannot see why can hear solenoid but just not opening
a minor off on wed =broken fence post bruised pride and scratches along front bumper and underside of driver's side bonnet from stones/barbed wire=a few days of paintwork repair and new decals, could have been much worse though!

That's funny....
My car is now at the painter's, so it feels like I am finally getting there.
Will post some pics once I get it back. I have finally decided on a subaru metallic gray, looking forward to seeing it on the car.

I take it you find Mike's pic funny rather than Martin's off My car is now at the painter's, so it feels like I am finally getting there.

Look forward to see your finished paintwork.
As for you Martin, is that what happens when you are messing with the doors when driving or are we hearing a result of the snow?

always sympathetic mark lol, skidded on mud so driver's side of bonnet hit fence post-fence post knocked down with fingernail sized lump of grp knocked out of bumper-had sprayed and lacquered but in typical murtaya curse lacquer has not keyed and has smeared and gone sticky so back to diy shop for 1200 sandpaper rubdown and start again-lucky my mph clothing decal prevented further damage as barbed wire scraped along decalLook forward to see your finished paintwork.

As some may know I have not had much to do with the day to day running of MSC so far this year. As my wife and Bank manager would agree you can only follow your dreams for so long. My passion for the Murtaya and the RTS in particular far out weighs my ability to earn a living wage from it, to this end I have had to seek other means of supporting my family.
I would like to thank Andy from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity he give me to work on, and be part of such an amazing project as the RTS.
I wish Ben and MSC the best of luck going forward and hope at some point in the future I can return to a full time commitment to the project.
To all the people I have meet and chatted with in the Murtaya world I wish all the best in your current and future project.

That is a real shame there Graham but like you say priority has to be for your family and I'm still sure that the market timing really hasn't helped the Murtaya from the start.
I hope you will still be found at some of the shows etc as it has been a pleasure to have dealt with you profesionally and naturally enjoyed the time socially too
Have a good one

Graham, you can tell you are not there as the phone doesn't get answered.
It has been a very difficult trading period for all businesses and building and selling cars. Speaking to builders, manufacturers and suppliers some are busy and some are at their wits end. If you are in the right niche it works. if it you aren't.....
Still we push on and I aiming to use the Murtaya on the hillclimb scene this year. I have bought the licence, we have the car, it just needs an extinguisher, some scrutineer delight signs, big numbers and a log book. No Martin I am not going to Doune as it looks very hairy in a quick car! We will stick to wide open spaces but hopefully get a bit of Loton, Shelsley and Prescott.
