Hmmmm, not sure we're talking about the same frame. The one I have is in three pieces, two that make up a "hoop" at the rear and a bar that goes towards the screen header. To erect the hood, you put the two pieces of the hoop together, raise the hood and attach the catches (held to the hood fabric with on a GRP header rail) to the screen rail and then tension the hood with the bar, which is then locked into place. Not sure why you don't like the look when the hood is down - the frame doesn't (actually can't) stay in place. It's a bit of a faff, but it's ok!
Sounds like you have some good ideas anyway.
Paint job looks awesome btw!
We are talking about the same frame, I thought you could leave the rear section up without the hood.... Another factor was the extra freight volume to get to NZ. Sounds like you have some good ideas anyway.
Paint job looks awesome btw!
Looking forward to picking up the car tomorrow and seeing it in natural light.
you had looked into this before ian but the level of tax you mentioned makes it impossible to do anything but sell in uk which is a real shame as car fully specced to what you want and like most recent murt owners you have been through a lot to get it this far, some lucky person is going to get a nice piece of kit for less than it cost to build!

I know, the roads out here are epic. It would be sooo nice to have it out here lolmartin
How are you enjoying your murt?
Looks like there might be some live Murtayas out there after all...Hopefully one driving around the US soon....but we're having blower/heater/AC unit issues. I'm not sure if anybody else had such a unit installed in their Murtaya? We don't have any install instructions for it and are being blocked on a bunch of the details...Update soon...
