Have to say that the WR1 gearbox makes the Murt SUCH a great vehicle as Jase says. No idea what the final top speed is but on a private, independant test, in top gear 4k revs is 100mph (the turbo is just starting to spool up)!?!?!?!??!!
MANY things can be forgiven for the performance it provides!

It is interesting how opinion is on all of this.
I see the Murtaya as a seriously great machine, a proper take no prisoners beast that can and will trounce opposition costing at least twice as much on so many levels. Bearing in mind the severity of the recession going on, how the banks have acted, etc. I really don't blame AMS for going under.
So, now as people invested in some way in the project it seems the best plan is to remain publicly positive, solve our problems and make it work, otherwise nobody will buy our cars in a few years when we decide we want back seats!
The way I see it is this:
You could buy a Gallardo but it costs more money and is slower than many Murtaya in terms of acceleration.
You could buy a Cater-field-7 for acceleration but they are not great in the rain and have no boot.
You could buy an Octavia for the boot but you don't have any grip or agility.
You could buy an Elise for the grip and agility but they don't have the power.
You could get a GTR for power but they are huge and cost a lot.
You could buy an Evo but they cost even more in maintenance.
You could still buy a Scoob but everyone has one of those!
I STILL think that for the money there is no other car I would/could take out in the snow for fun AND to go shopping AND to take on a track day AND to drive to work in AND take the roof off AND does not cost a lot to Insure OR tax AND is a bit different.
To those who say that their Rover 75 goes just as fast in a traffic jam I say yes but the difference is my Murt will get me laid in a traffic jam (not entirely true but don't tell anyone).
I do understand however, that others feel differently, that is just how I feel about it. It is a real shame that AMS went under (amongst other things any company going out of business causes pain for customers and other companies which I know Neil and Tom and Dan desperately tried to avoid) but I am also glad that Jase and Steve are still involved in the project and hope that they along with the distributors and us customers can get the Murtaya past this potentially difficult phase because I really think it is worth it and dammit I am right!
... and I don't have a need for back seats before you ask!

Just put number plate on the bottom of the front clam - nice and easy job, even I could do that, looks like it frees up about a third more FMIC!
Also put some nice new pedals on, now that was a pain in the harris, broke three drill bits trying to drill through the existing pedals and then had to go and buy one screw as the alan bolt for the accelerator did not fit due to the existing pedal back. Then I got stuck in the footwell and thought I was going to die in there, I am not a big bloke and reasonably flexible too, be careful in there!
Will get some interior pics when I can.

Crap, did not check that!
I did cut it down from the full size so that it is letters with a minimal white border. Did think about getting a 3/4 size one from Fancy plates like I had for the VXR but that will have to wait.
Going to have to have a look tomorrow to see if it is now too low, and there I was feeling chuffed that I had done something constructive... poo!

Hmm my signals are on the 'wrong' side but have found that I am used to that now. I do want to get some aluminium ones (to replace the standard ones as they now look a little out of place) but can't seem to find any decent ally alternatives - anyone???
Went to the Lake District a few months ago, lots of motorway miles, the 6 speed box made it really rather a nice pace indeed!

Cursed - off course!
How else do you explain it?
SO can't wait to get my little car back - really really missed it!
To all those waiting for theirs; once you have had it for a while and then are without it you realise that anything else you drive in the mean time is proper $h!te.
I want my car back where the different pedals do different things, until then it just feels like other cars I have been driving have a clutch and brake which might as well be the same and the accelerator and gearstick are interchangeable in that they just changes the noise coming from the engine, the steering wheel just changes the angle the car leans at.

Re: door sag.
Check out the size of the hinges on a VX220 or Elise - MASSIVE hinges and they don't even have leccy windows! and yes they both of them leak too - so do Alphas and Porsches and everything else where there is a soft top it seems - I have asked about quite a bit!
Mine have seemed to have stopped sagging.... I think!
Won't be along to Castle Combe this year - Murt is at Rowleys for remap after change of routing of air intake.

I have luckily avoided it once before but now I am being forced to sell up and it is honestly one of the hardest things I have done. I have worked hard and waited a while for my car and it is bloody great but I have to have the cash or I don't get to do that 'eating' thing.
