Bit of a longshot this one.
When i was a kid i went with my Dad to deliver some office furniture (family business) to a company on Hortonwood Ind Est, Telford, and the guy was designing and developing his own kit car. Guys name was Derek, hence company name Delkit, and the cars name was the Camino. My dad and I being petrolheads, used to go along to car shows and saw the end result on display at Stoneleigh iirc. Show car was reddy-maroon colour and had 8 spoke chrom Weller steel wheels. Was based on Cortina mechanicals iirc. Would have been '85-'87 when i saw the body buck being worked on, and probably couple of years later max when i saw the car on display at the shows.

Has anyone got a picture or pictures please? or know of whatever happened to the firm?

Cheers
CNH

This is the only picture I have now. It's from Classic Kit Cars by Chris Rees.

It was a 'single donor' kit based on the Mk III or Mk IV Cortina.

According to the book around 6 were made.

i run nissan engines in my hillclimber and someone posted those pics of the bodyshell on a nissan forum and a 'what is it' ensued. I was pretty sure it was the delkit camino id seen as a kid, so showed pics to my Dad and we even looked to see if we'd got pics of the original car we'd seen way back when.
turned into a real nostalgia trip!
personally it was butt ugly but each to their own i guess
