Wow i'm slowly reading through your build, awesome work! I feel like a cheat now, owning a MAC#1 and not building it! Mine was built by MAC for a customer.Keep up the good work.

Intercooler/oil cooler/radiator fitted to the car this morning, you can see the 10" rad fan is the biggest I was going to squeeze behind the radiotor.

With the nose cone fitted, the intercooler is now looking very discreet smile

Exhaust support fitted

I then set about fitting the finished trim strips to the outside edges of the passenger compartment

I had to nip out to buy some more rivots this afternoon, I got sidetracked and time passed by, when I returned home I couldnt be bothered to do much else, so I quickly trial fitted the rest of the panels.

Looking good again wink

What trim did you use for the edge of the cockpit and rear wing curves?

Jason... I'm not sure where it originally comes from or what its called, I bought it from Mac#1, they buy it in and cut/bend it to suit the shape of the car.

Right then... here goes the latest update

I bought a length of aluminium pipe and silicon hose to sort the boost pipework out

Boost pipework cut and mocked up, looks like this

Aeroquip hoses made up and fitted between the engine and remote oil filter, they still need to be tidied up and secured

Oil cooler hoses cable tied roughly where they will sit, couldnt make off the oil cooler hoses fully because I bought 45 degree fittings for the oil cooler end of the hoses and they actually need to be 90 degrees, doh!

Secured the prop adapter to the engine then bolted the propshaft to it. The coolant hose on the left of the prop needs to be secured out of the way as it fouls the prop where it is currently sitting.

Here's an aerial photo of the car, showing just why they are so light and quick

Gear linkage is now fitted

The extre holes are where i played with other settings, to get the gear lever feel and movement the way I wanted it. I didn't bother cutting the arms to length just yet as I may want to adjust the feel/travel once the car is on the road and I drive it.

Your prop coupling has just reminded me of the talk of Mac 1's prop shaft nuts coming lose...

I have ny-locs on mine (as do you and most others) and check them from time to more often time, but some have put cradles under their prop shafts....

Went out in mine for the first time last Sunday week when it was sunny. The road was not quite dry enough, and my 70 mile dash was... raw, and I like to say fun

No problem Mick... any time.

I've bought some new parts...

Fuel filler cap, stainless bolts, locking ring and filler neck hose

Various silicon hoses, reducers, alloy hose joiners for the cooling system, some adhesive foam tape and jubilee clips.

So if I pull my finger out I can get the engine/header tank/radiator piped up, leaving the wiring to crack on with! smile

I'm beginning to feel the heat already!!! I'm hoping to have the car completed and running by the end of March, would be fantastic to be able to drive it to Stoneleigh!! biggrin

Ordered some wiring components yesterday and they were delivered this morning, time to get cracking...

I made a start on the cooling system yesterday, plumbed in the turbo water feed and return, also the turbo oil feed with new braided hose, then the coupled up the water pump and thermostat housing to to the radiator, still needs tidying but there is more plumbing to do first, more specifically the header tank.

Here are the pics
