I bought a fairly basic live axle Zetec Fury Spider in September last year for track day use. It is absolutely brilliant fun on track, way cheaper to run than any production road car and (when driven properly) a real giant killer.

If funds allow I would love to go for a mental-powered bike-engined version in the future, it handles SO well that it only took a few trackdays before I was craving more power!

I'm 6'3 and I fit fine, although there is nowhere to rest my clutch foot which could get tiresome on long journeys.

Fury's are great cars, the only problem is the guys at BGH haven't got a reputation for doing anything at any sort of speed. Nice people to deal with though and a great product.

Standard solution is to simply rivet a bit of aluminium angle to the side of the transmission tunnel, provided your feet aren't too big!

Of course me having a passenger ride in one of you're cars is not complete until you have a minor mechanical breakdown hehe

If I was in the market for a car like that, I reckon I would be making that guy an offer. I especially like the hood, often not thought of with that type of car............ until it rains!

Having had a go in Ruari Coles's Cosworth Fury Spyder (300+bhp in a 600kg car) even I would think twice before I bought that! Fearsome torque,we were doing a genuine 140 in some supidlyshort amount of time. Made my Furyblade seem slow! He also worked at MIRA, and legend has it the Fury went through the speed trap there at 165...

I don't know where you are based but there will be a number of Phoenixes and Furys (both BEC & CEC) at Llandow circuit next Saturday (15th May). I'd certainly be happy to take you out in mine as, I'm sure, would other owners.

Folks Garage

Clutter and something under a tarp

Fisher Spider Lightweight which has never turned a wheel.

Fireblade Engine.

This is my mates and my folks would really like their garage back. He is having a massive clear out of all his crap and this thing is your typical never got around to it project. The bonnet had a nasty hole cut in it for the 2L pinto which the previous "never got around to it either" put in.

This will be cheap as they go. Send me a PM and I'll pass your details on.

Edit:- Yellow tape was to stop it getting scuffed.

That is quite a find, but I've got to be honest, I don't think a Fury is for me..and even so I'm not looking for a project, or wasn't. It's a shame too, because even though that car is part assembled, really it needs stripping again and all the metalwork blasting and painting cos it's been stood so long. Obviously do able but won't be a 5 minute thing.

I went to look at a Fury the other day, barely fit in it and my head was way higher than the screen and roll bar, dunno how 'big dave' copes!!

After taking off the seat pad I just fit behind the screen. I now sit on the plastic seat which is bolted to the floor.

Pics are with the seat pads in when I first got it. I sat about an inch too high.
I might look at moving the pedals further forward and getting a seat that has more of a laid back angle. One side of the seat has been cut away so I have got a little extra width.

Quick blast with Lee at Laon 2009. Bit too small for me.

I've got a Fury light blue factory demo car. R1 engine. Fantastic fun. I'm 6'4" and 17 stone and it's no bother. I wear a helmet though as mine's a spyder with le mans wings.
Anyone else have problems with the sump bottoming out?

Only every R1 engined Fury I know biggrin

I have done 3 3000mile Alps trips with friends, each time with Fury R1's. 1st time one broke a sump. 2nd time one broke a sump. 3rd time one ripped a sump guard off.

I think it's a case of TADTS

I've grounded My Fury R1 a few times but nothing serious. Just need to think and plan ahead. Not got a lot of ground clearance though (65mm). I avoid speed bumps.

Back to this thread again! I was crashed into and am unsure what is happening with the libra. I'm amazed big dave fits so well!! Then again the fury I sat (and got stuck) in was adapted to fit a small and much more trim man!
