Thanks peeps

It's a MegaBlade with a stock '95 engine.

The pic was taken today. About an hour later, Mrs Numptie and I were very cold and very scared

Den,

The car was built by a Mr Helsby in Oldham

BTW - the reverse box has to go

Cheers,

N

I didn't expect such enthusiasm, so here are some more shots ...

very very nice. Not too keen on the colour, but that looks a finely built example!

Congrats.

Why the hell have costco painted two lines between each parking space? SUrely they'd save money/effort just painting one like every other carpark in the country.

Nice motor, especially like the still-in-its-bag new tarp in the passenger footwell incase it rained!

you'll find the gap between the lines is perfect to get your trolley down. It's a great idea

Hi Numptie,
Lovely car! They are great fun aren't they!
Please do get rid of the reverse box, they are crap. The bearing went on mine and it ran like a sack of s**t!! I stuck in a two piece prop with a centre bearing, no reverse, but the car runs so much better!!!! I was able to make the change myself, with some help from moomin, not that hard!
Cheers
Mike

Cashy,
If your looking for a westy, best places are pistonheads, auto trader and the westfield factory site. I picked mine up through autotrader, it only had done 2000 miles, so no buying worries
Cheers
Mike
P.S. There was a green megabird for sale on auto trader, don't know whether it's still there or not

what are you talking about when you say a reverse box? Are you meaning you have no reverse gears?

Motorbikes don't have reverse gear (ok there are a few that do!) so thus when you stick them in a car you don't have a reverse as you use the bike's gearbox. A reverse box takes the drive from the gearbox and reverses it. So in theory you have 6 forward and 6 reverse gears :eek IIRC it was a Blackbird powered Caterham that set the world record for speed in reverse.

Costco (and I dearly wish this was a wind-up, but its not) specify all their car parks to the same spec. It's designed around the Ford F150 truck so the spaces need ample 'oops room' - hence the substantial 'boundaries'.

And at about £600 quid or whatever Quaife want for it, and with the alternative of a cheap electric reverse, or the old favourite of getting out and pushing, you can see why people ditch it.
