One of our friends from the Stratos Enthusiasts club has just put his 'ready for IVA' car up for sale due to family health circumstances.
Just thought I'd link here as not sure if its widely advertised.

An extremely sad state of affairs has led to this car being offered for sale. If you're interested in buying this car, may I suggest discretion in this case. This is very much a forced sale, reluctantly taken under the most trying of personal circumstances.

Thanks.

Photos here.

Just a head's up. My car will be for sale in a couple of weeks once I get a few things sorted.

It's not a spur of the moment decision. I've been thinking about it for months. It's just that I haven't driven it much during the last two years. It's been sitting in my garage under its cover with only an annual trip up to the Silverstone Classic and a few run outs during the summer.

Plus, I've a hankering for a 964 targa. smile

I tried to sell my Stratos once. ONCE. Someone sat in it, said it was bit of a tight fit or some such . . . "go away" i thought, cos it fits me like a glove. I won't part with it, ever.

My reasons for selling mine were similar. I sold it, then got over it. It's only an object after all. I may have committed a few years of effort and a lot of cash into it, but hey, it passed the time.

Sell it, move on and don't regret it.

Your car was exceptional, Chris. Your post makes all the sense in the world.

Having something in mind to replace it with has to be a good position to be in really. I just put the money in the savings which wasn't that exciting frankly. An unpleasent situation would be having to sell when one really doesn't want to, but I was lucky that didn't apply to me.

I never thought about selling it on when I was building it, but probably the biggest clue it was time to sell was one day when I opened the garage to get something out, saw the car, and thought to myself, Oh, yeah, forgot I had that......

It does sound like you are ready to move on to pastures new.

And thank you for that kind comment smile
