Stratos replica on eBay, not a Hawk.

I know this car extremely well.

It's a well sorted competition car kept to the highest standards by Keith Waite at K&L Autos.

The seller, who lives most of the year in Cyprus, is the guy who set up the Stratos Enthusiast's forum.

A very good car, this.

Despite the damage (which isn't such a big problem) It should make £12,000 to £14,500.
If it gets near to or beyond £15,000 it's done well.

The colour scheme, the fact that it's registered, and the Alfa V6 will all help.

I don't think you're far wrong with that. I've always fancied one of those, but I've already got two cars hidden away from Mrs Plug!

This car:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REPLICA-LANCIA-STRATOS-RALLY...
is now selling for £19,500 or make an offer.

It is exactly the same type of car as the Alitalia one that's listed on ebay - Corse S ('S' because of the rear strut suspension).
The yellow one has an expensive engine and transmission. Standard Alfa 164 V6 parts could be fitted to make the sum of the car's parts more affordable.

I saw that one, but it doesn't have the same wow factor, does it? Also not mot'd, so more money for the same amount of work in my book.
Looks like it's had a hard life if it's been rallied a lot. The old salesmans line of "never raced or rallied" still stick in my mind!

I can vouch that the rallied Corse has been very well looked after. In fact, the guy who looks after my Hawk - Keith Waite - also fettles this one and has done so for several years.

I must declare some interest though. That car is in my father's garage at the moment. Mine's having some new headlight lift motors fitted and in a game of musical chairs cars, the yellow and red Corse currently for sale has ended up in its place at my father's house.

An Alitalia colour scheme always sells a Stratos rep?

It's worth exactly £14,020

There's doubt (by some on the Stratos forum) that the auction was genuine, but we'll see?
