I entirely agree with you Qdos and not for the first time! I do not want this to be case but as yet in fifty years ++ of motoring and Three Wheeler enjoyment it is consistently the diminutive low profile cars that interest me. I look forward to someone actually building one that is the equal of the original Berkeley back in the 1960's.. Still never bettered IMO for looks, style and performance. I can still remeber the effect that a three wheeler berkeley had when it first came out.

With the preponderance of the modern 3 cylinder very small displacement engines of remarkablly low consumption surely there is a wealth of donor vehicles that could fit the build. At this rate it will be down to me to build one and I am getting too ancient and rickety to be a pioneer. I think a well balanced lightweight car could really go places. I do hope someone takes this idea up!

Please do.

I myself dream of a single seat road reverse trike, with a simple Fibreglass monocoque tub, compliant well designed suspension and a 1l superbike engine, swingarm and suspension. Not very expensive to make, great commuter car (a single seat version of my Libra considering I do 80 miles a day on my own with a rucksack for company) yet fun as all hell when desired.

There's a guy (Captain America) who has built something close to my ideal in the States (very good build diary on the 2f1r forum), but it's not quite there...

That I do like, looks from just behind the driver seat forward is great, I find the rear too open, some sort of suround merging from air intake into a mudgard would look good while leaving wheel open.

Nice car, pity about the price. Dollar (US)? Price from $36,000 to $44,000 I think which would mean between roughly £22,000 and £29,000 OTR in the UK. Which seems too high for such a vehicle to me. My interest is in finding an affordable lightweight high power m/c based three wheeler with excellent consumption and therefore low running costs.

As yet the only way seems to be to design and then build one, which I think given my experience of building and modifying kit cars over 50 years and having owned a fair number of three wheeler cars personally, I probably could achieve and effect a decent build. However with a number of kit cars including Westfields, Banhams, JC locusts, Midas and other part built kit cars awaiting finishing already bought by me because I cannot resist a bargain, it will not be for a while.

I agree wrt price, however that is fully built, with reconditioned engine etc.

Once I've completed my house refurb, I'm going to get in touch with them to see if they'll do a kit sans engine/wheels/etc. to see what the price would be then (that'd also reduce the import duty/VAT bill).

As everything is in solidworks, it would be very interesting if they'd do a bodywork/component pack with the frame/wishbones etc. fabricated locally.

As you may be able to tell, I'm in love! All it needs is to be Road legal over here (under msva I assume, but not sure about the exposed suspension at the front) and the ability to mount a motorcycle top box at the rear...

On the Ball again qdos.!

Excellent post and I have written to the manufacturers asking for full details. Bodywork looks a bit on the minimalist side but the class's and handling look exactly right to me. I am arranging a test drive ASAP and dependant on the outcome I think there may well be another project on the blocks at Steffan's towers. SWMBO Will be stratospheric but as I frequently life is imperfect particularly if you love with a Autistic twit like me. I do than you sir, for that post.

Drop me a line if you need a contact number as I know the designer Tony Lafaye reasonably well. He had a hand in the Zest's design It's a gorgeous looking machine in the flesh too.

Yep, brochure brochure request has been submitted.

Whilst the purist in me doesn't like the 'twin chassis' arrangement, the pragmatic me says I'll live with it if it costs half as much as the scorpion and is easier to both register and mount a top box pannier...

I'd be interested to hear your impressions as well. I found this trike a couple of years ago and thought it looked OK.

Cheers
