Firstly would anyone have a couple of old spare wheel nuts please so I can attach my spare wheel (bring to Newark?)

In the longer term, rather than carry that huge thing around (and I don't have too much confidence in aerosol repairs), how about:

A. getting an S Series / Chimaera space saver re-drilled to fit?

B. using a skinny Triumph Herald (same stud pattern?) wheel with something like a 135 x 13 tyre?

You can use space saver spare from early Nissan Z cars. I have a T135/70 D 16 I am using on my 3000S.

Definitely Volvo V40 or S40 (same wheels). I obtained a Griffith/Chimera space saver with the aim of drilling it to suit until some kind soul on here indicated that V40 wheels would fit. As I have a V40 easy to check and sure enough the same PCD. My son picked up a couple in a Bradford scrapyard for about £20 each. The extra space up front made closing the bonnet a great deal easier and much less weight to have to wrestle out. Original Triumph TR wheels also fit but a bit larger than the V40 space savers. My 1600M now sold in fact went within 2 days of the advert but have just found an original (new old stock) Borg and Beck diaphragm clutch and plate for the 1600 crosflow if anyone interested.

For the S40 wheel to fit you need a couple of washers to stop most wheel nut locking out on the internal of the nut...or to cut the studs down on the spare wheel mount.

Bought an S40 wheel but it's a big ugly steel thing so have now gone for plan two and had an S Series Wolfrace alloy re-drilled smile
