i am thinking off fabricating them myself, the stuff they use
is polycarbon??
Rudy, if you are talking about the suspension bushes then I would strongly recommend buying the correct parts rather than trying to fabricate them yourself. They are expensive (the polyurethane ones anyway) but I wouldn't want to be driving around on home made ones.is polycarbon??
I'm still trying to track down the correct ones to use on mine.

GB, IMHO, you need to mix Poly and rubber (given that tyres/shocks and springs have changed since the car was built) and the large taper is the late bush (IF you use poly on the outboard rear wishbones then the NEED to be spaced correctly to match the alloy casting and the wishbone
Yes, Adrian, I've seen the threads on this but got confused on the ID measurements. Adrian@ said:
AND there is a picture on PH with the diagrams of these eyelets)
I haven't been able to track down any diagrams using search - any links?GB
Graham,
I will waite until you placed bushings at your chassis,to be sure they fit,
that is why I wanted to fabricate them myself,I can measure them correctly,
only issue,finding the wright material!
Adrian, about the windscreen,I was thinking to place a bracket on the thread at the end
off the stud below ,under the dash
the bracket could be adjustble to regulate the angle from the windscreen,
sorry if English is not correct, but if it works pictures could tell the correct story

Rudy, from what's been said here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... the tube ID is always 1.000". Heightswitch also makes his own tubes but buys standard 1" bushes - see his post from 15:37. I will waite until you placed bushings at your chassis,to be sure they fit,

It really isn't rocket science. Just buy the correct top hat for the ID measurement of the housing and make the centres up to suit what you want!! I buy lengths of Stainless bar and just bore, ream and part off to size. You can also buy 1" Outer and 3/4" Inner to use 3/4 stainless bar . This gives you less compliance.
If you want even less compliance you can turn up solid nylon to suit.
You can also buy oversise top hats and turn them down on the lathe in a mandrel to get the size you want.
Then their is Brass !!

thanks,
the nylon seems a good option,it is easy to work with, first idea was teflon, but had no experience
what performence will be on a car-chassis?
brass does give trough all vibrations??
My advice would be to just buy your top hats from a reputable supplier then machine up your own centres from stainless bar. If you want a nice road car then build it soft with nice soft bushes.the nylon seems a good option,it is easy to work with, first idea was teflon, but had no experience
