V6 essex tuning
Discussion
GAjon, V66 is bit wild for road use, ok for madmen, who like lots of revs, but not for someone who wants to ride a wave of torque!!
And if you are going to Rev it, then sort out the rocker gear, I managed to pull half the studs out on mine, in a valiant attempt to beat Mr Bannister in a yellow vixen at a Goodwood Sprint (pulling 6250 for a long time on the back straight). I did beat him though by a fraction of a second, so the glory was worth it!!!!

Here's one ready to go - £4000.00.
Probably cost you more for the parts.

yes, I saw this advert, but the engine is not very good for road use.Probably cost you more for the parts.

I prefer to have a lot of torque and just a bit more power.
If you going to pull the engine apart then you only want to do it once!! I'd consider sorting the bottom end as well, before you worry too much about manifolds. I would add a new distributor drive (your old one will be worn) and a steel timing gear to that list as a minimum. If the car has the nylon timing gear and it's original, you'll never know when its going to let go.

Hi everybody,
I found a reconditioned V6 essex to tune. for remember, I'm looking for 180bhp and 200 lb/ft torque, and a strong engine between 2000rpm and 5000rpm.
I give you my project:
- K/N filter
- fast road cam (like kent V63)
- crank/rods/pistons/flywheel lightened and balanced.
- cylinder heads stage 2
- janspeed (or Tony Law ?) manifolds
- steel timing gear
about the brake system ?
- stainless steel hoses + DOT4
- what pads ?
about chassis:
quaife system in the original salisbury.
your opinion ?
thank you,
Simon.

Fine, but you have blown your 2K budget somewhat!!
not really, because I found an engine with some of the work already done.I only have it:
- K/N filter
- cylinder heads stage 2
- janspeed (or Tony Law ?) manifolds
- steel timing gear
for brake system and LSD, I had already planned budget.

I suspect they'll be some man Maths going on here!I only have it:

That will be the quantum mechanical bank account applying Schrodinger's overdraft. This means that you can simultaneously pay for TVR engineering projects and new bathrooms using the same cash pot. The cash is simultaneously present and absent and only tips from one state to the other once you look in the account book. I find its best not to look! Edited by GAjon on Wednesday 25th April 15:33
