Just bought a 1961 Grantura Mk1 Help
Discussion
Hi,
Glad to put the photo's up. Im afraid i dont know where or when they were taken, i only have these 2 shots of the car. I have a large collection of photo's from the sixties of old TVRs granturas Griffs etc ive been collecting them for years, i buy a lot from Ferret Fotographics, he always digs out new ones for me from his massive collection of negatives.
If your car had a Bristol engine was it from new, in which case what is the middle part of the Ch/ No, 7/f/ 7/b or 7/c is normal or 7/Fs as with Cantus Mk1.
By the way i own MK2a 7/b/296, hence my interest in Granturas

he owns? at least 12 oldies so it seems
sadly he lives 700km from my house deep in the south of Germany.

Klaus in Germany a well known (hoarder) collector of early Granturas

Let's say I saved some of them from scrapping, as there was no interest in these cars in the 80s in England. davidy (an ex owner of Grantura Mk1)
I tried to sell them for some English friends in Germany but stopped offering after I had some experiences with tire kickers. So I just kept them for my peronell interest.
I do reproduce some parts as well as bodies and chassis for my own projects and I am still traceing the history of the early Granturas and their modifications and options. As I do have two lightweights, one I saved from scrapping,I can see the difference to the "standard" car. The car with the wobbly webs is not in my collection, it is still in England and quite expensive. I am still looking for those wobbly webs. I will write down all these anomalies or features for future publishing.
My suggestion for people looking for some info on their cars; publish your question including picture on a stall in Beaulieu.

Please excuse my spelling mistakes. (If you find one you may keep it or send me a PN)
No, because the people usually offer the same money as I have payed 30 years ago and they tell me that these cars are in a bad condition and do need a lot of work and that it will be difficult to get parts for them and the one or the other part is not original. I think when ever I will try to sell them I bring them back to England, people look more realisticly at those cars. May be my widow will do so when the time is come. Ha,ha, but not yet.
