Yes the Bristol engine was in it from new I've got the first tax book of the car. The ch/No is 7/c the car is in a sorry state at the min And supporting a real bad orange paint job. I will be returning the car back to white.

I see you are in N.I, is that where you came across the car?, it always fascinates me how these cars turn up, was it some ones who you knew or locked in a garage forgotten about for years ?

You're right Johann, in the words of the great Murray Walker 'Yes, I am very much mistaken'. It was Stephan who I met.

Bavaria has some great TVR (and classic car) enthusiasts who enjoy getting their cars out and playing with them. It's unfortunate that the Bavarian region and the UK are so far apart......or maybe lucky for you guys!

The last owner had the car form the mid 70s. It had been sitting in a garage untouched for the last five years or so. The car has been in ireland sence the late 60s.

Peter Filby's book "The Early Years" shows on page 143 an autocrossing Grantura Mk3 (338 YTD?) driven bei John Akers, "Driver and car went to become extremely successful at the sport". Maybe this helps to find more details about your car?

Regarding your chassis no, here are some known details:

7/ = all Granturas from Mk 1 - Mk 2a with VW torsion bars
C/ = climax engine, B/ = BMC (MGA) engine, F/ = Ford engine, FS/ = Ford supercharged engine
xxx = chassis no

However, there are some known irregularities, in particular if your car was first registered with that Bristol BS1 2.0ltr 6 cylinder 1950s race engine!

I am driving former OO 9507, a british racing green MK 2a Grantura, which was a winner of some concours events. Do you have any pics in your collection? That would be great!

If I had to guess I would say Tommy entwhistle.

I have never seen a piccy of Bunty Scott Moncrieff,..I believe he was a larger than life TVR fan around the time..

Or with such a nice suit could it be Arnold Burton??

I have looked at my copy of early Years and Carl..If you think they are the same person you must have had far too much red wine. The pic doesn't look Like Bunty at all when compared with the book.

The guy in the picture is far more the size and build of Tommy Entwhistle but It doesn't look quite like him?
