Thought I'd spend half hour polishing a wheel with a kit I get from www.polishingshop.co.uk

Below is a grid pic. Polished, in two lights, front against rear and a rear (un polished to compare)

However it did snatch and I caught the drill Chuck on the lip...

I think I've found where the nasty "clunk" ws coming from.....

The little pile of bits in the middle should be needle rollers.

It was one of the cups from the outer end of the half shaft.

All back together now and guess what, NO CLUNK!

Removed two bin bags full of loft insulation which was hidden in the back of the car, then began to use sound reducing carpet to line the body work. This became quite an effort being 6'3" curled up behind the seats, squashed against the glass with little ventilation to allow the glue fumes to escape!

As you can see I didn't get finished and need to somehow wire in a fog light to the original cluster!

So glad that I have a Taimar, wouldn't want to struggle with a non opening boot.

The engine is disconnected from the gearbox.

And its down on the floor!!

Im now thinking what to do with this engine! Now, a few weeks back there was a company on ebay who were selling full engines, totally refurbed for about 1500 quid, including unleaded heads and waterpump, but I cant find them anywhere.

Im thinking that the time I spend on stripping the engine, plus having the heads unleaded conversion and possibly stage 2, and changing the waterpump, fuel pump, gaskets etc, I might aswell buy a recon!

Anyone know of a nice V6 Essex with unleaded heads?
Ive found an engine on TVR M Fix, but 7K is a little excessive Methinks.

So, made a lot of progress on the Taimar over the last two days.

Yesterday, we test fitted the windscreen, which was a major pain in the backside, it's in now, but the rubber is loose in places and not quite right in some corners, but it is an old rubber, so new one might fit better.

Then we moved the cars around, and got the 1600M back into the single garage, and the taimar body tucked into the back on the double garage, and got the taimar chassis laid down next to the T350. Few bits of the chassis needed a bit of a touch-up.

Today, flipped the chassis over, got it up on axle stands, and started to fit the suspensions components.
Upper front arms were a pain, very stiff to get in, got there in the end though.
So now front upper and lower arms are on, test fitted the anti-roll bar, test fitted the steering rack with solid mounts.

Oh, and the engine bay/bulkhead now looks great, best rattle can painting we've ever done, biggrin
(just a bit dusty)

Well done, coming on nicely, I need to replace both my window seals, eventually as mine are old, stiff and the slim line type, nowhere near as good as Adrians type.
