John Wade is regarded highly in the Essex world although I have no first hand experience.
Had my Taimar engine built by John Wade, cannot recommend him enough.

The block colour was not my choice, I wanted bright yellow!!!

Yes looking great however its whats inside that matters and if there is a little of John in there it will be good from what i am told regards time scale we are going to get moving and get the car restored and just freshen up the engine as she was going fine before she made love to the sign post and tackle the engine when John can fit it in
starting her up monday just to make sure?
May even pick up another V6 engine that i can leave with John so he does not feel under pressure time wise and switch later then store the original engine so we still have the original engine with the car even if not in the car.
would like to take both cars to Back to Blackpool in september finished so a really buisy year ahead.

Andrew, can't find the wiper spindle spacers (think they're in a box in the passenger footwell, but car still at paintshop)

Wipers......

Blade is 325mm

arm is 235 from tip to pivot rivet or 252 from tip to centre of mounting hole, if you "flatten" it against the spring pressure.

Think these are same as a Mini but the end is bent the opposite way (Mini wipers park to the left?)

As said on the phone, also think the are mini', but the 'spacer' is not as angled on a taimar, then it is on a 3000S. For the few dollars involved, I would order a couple of them, try, and send back whatever you don't need

Thanks Guys
when anyone finds the spacer i would love to see a picture front and back i know it is basically a plastic piece that the bolt pushes down onto the bulkhead but was interested to see if it is flat or has it got a shaped raised area underneath that slots into hole in bulkhead to maintain the position also do the arms have a screw to attatch to the shafts or not.
A lot easier when you have to old parts to compare? hope the thieves made good use of them wink

Wiper arm is held on by nothing more than the "splines" on the spindle and spring pressure cocking the arm over so it "locks". No positive fixing, and the splines wear with age/use!

The spindle "spacers" are (on mine) simply a piece of thick wall plastic tube cut at an angle.

Should be ...gasket..spacer..flat washer..eight sided nut.

Here's a couple of photo's of the bits from the 3000S as I was taking them apart. They may not be exactly the same as the Taimar but from the above descriptions they sound as if they are the same "family" so these pictures might clarify things slightly better than words.

They are different as the 3000s they are mounted on a flat surface which is at an angle to the windscreen (well maybe not on yours yet wink but the taimar the area where it is mounted is at the same angle as the windschreen.

The wiper spindle spacers on my Taimar are parallel and about 6mm thick. With respect to the wiper blades and arms, I have used TR6 blades at 14" long and Spitfire arms, slightly longer than the TVR but fit OK. The end of the arm can bend left or right depending on whether the car is right or left hand drive. I bought them from Rimmer Brothers in Lincoln.

As memory serves, MG Midget ones are the right size/length. Not sure, though.

I'd have sworn they were angled but they're not are they ( obviously confusing with the S Series rolleyes )?

Yes now i know what is needed should be ok with what Adrian is sending then it should be fine.
Parts are arriving every week from various places delaying strip down until the bonnet arrives as we want that fitted etc and correct before we strip her as not a great idea to do that with fresh paint later.
Parts bin is growing though have a nice bit of bling arriving this week for the engine bay will look great once fully polished.

As you can guess i am in charge of the shiny bits as well as sourcing and refurbing parts etc

Progress at Last after waiting for the new Bonnet to cure and the Quick release bonnet frame to be fitted Thanks Adrian a Star as always and the Accident damage to be completed before strip down we now have some progress and the body came off this week so will have regular updates as the weeks and Months goes by.

Some big decisions to make this week as I have been offered a rebuilt engine instead of having my one re built and jury is still out as to which way to go as the final car is not for me I have to way up the whole picture.

Andrew, the original engine ran nicely without any smoke or other issues so I'd probably stay with a clean up......hope the chassis was OK when stripped.
