Very glad to see your circumstances allow the revival of this restoration. The abrupt ending of the original thread left a very good read unfinished!

Nice to hear some sense of normality is returning to your world; hope new job and house are treating you well smile

Good to see thread back up and running too. It's a brilliant story and a lot of us have been looking forward to seeing the car come back to life. I for one will continue to follow with interest.

I'd love to hear of progress with this car.

I saw a Grantura project on ebay and it reminded me of this.

As Andrew says, I have been pre occupied with bikes, getting re-married and all of the other things that get in the way.

Just finished doing the clutch, crankshaft oil seal and starter motor on the old R100.

Once I have done the fork seals and pushrod oil seals, then I promise that I will get my teeth into the TVR!

wow that's a lovely thing. I remember pressing my nose up against the window of a BMW dealer in Bath in the early 80s where they had a pair of bikes that looked rather like this, but white. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

I've seen some white R100RT back in the days, but less fun ;-) see the Dutch police bikes in the days.

Having another find a historic TVR session and came across your thread..
I do from time to time wonder what happened to the historic cars that i have regreted selling off for some needy reason.
Amazing with a good try you can find them thanks to the internet..
Well i will let anyone look at my long standing WFD 400H TVR S2 VIXEN thread to se what my new friend Keith has done by completing the Vixen just a few weeks ago..
There is a short cine film from way back in 1980 when i purchased the TVR on YOU TUBE together with some life history of other things too..
Type in search and you should be able to find it.

Talking about the rear panel being painted black i did have the same feeling as at the time race sports GT`s seemed to have that idea on track...
Strange how the factory painted sills in black as that makes the car look high off the ground..I remember that was the rage with all the scene back in the 1970`s..Vehicles even had the black up halfway up the doors.

Yep.

The thick end of two years ago, I had a rare moment of lucidity. I finally admitted to myself that I had neither the time nor the necessary skills to get the job done.

I had a long chat with Neil and decided to part company with the project.

I am very pleased that he has taken on the mantle. This way we will all get to see the finished article that much sooner. He may even let me have a go in it...

The garage space is now occupied by a Guzzi Le Mans and a Laverda Jota. My taste for hairy chested evil handling vehicles with wonky build quality remains undiluted.

All the Le Mans I remember from my youth were 850cc. That Jota is beautiful. There used to be a light ice blue one I’d see in Oxford years ago - always sounded great!
