Hello everybody,
i've read that it would be possible to install some MX5 seats in a TVR M.
Is it true ?
In fact, i'm searching a way to change the seats i have that are not OEM ones. It would be great if i found originial ones but i'm sure it's going to be very hard.Or maybe in a bad condition so a hudge budget to make them retrim...
Or maybe someone knows where i can go, or even maybe has this parts to sell.
Your help is welcome !
Many many thanks
Jay

I have seen MX5 seats in an "M"........so i guess they do fit but unsure of how much fiddling would be needed.

May have a set of refurbished "M" seats available, PM me and I'll send you some pics

They do fit really well with a little bit of (easy) work on the mx5 runners and the use of some wood spacers. Modern design seats, which can only be a good thing and they also manage to look quite period IMO.

I think it's the early MX5 seats that fit as they are narrow. I'm not sure if later seats also fit, so check widths before you buy.

I think the early seats had an audio speaker fitted into the seat - personal taste.

I fitted MX5 seats to my GT6 which is very narrow in the seat area, I found this artical very usefull, http://teglerizer.com/triumphstuff/miataseats/inde... The seats are deeper than the GT6 but looking at the depth of the seats in my 1800S I don't think it would be an issue.

I have a set of early MX5 seats which I would like to install in my 3000M. Could you please elaborate a bit more on the necessary steps. I would like to keep the original holes. May be you even have pictures.
Thank you very much in advance,
Alex

You can keep the original holes but you may have to move them. Hole moving kits sometimes pop up on eBay.

Don't be silly, that's drill. Specific hole moving kits do sometimes pop up. Often they are for the wrong size hole or have the special dye you spray on the hole so you don't loose it between removal and refitting.

are the "M" seats the same as 3000S seats, if so are they black and been recovered.
The seats in my 3000S are a little tired

Ah, so that's what happened. You bought two kits, and moved your lower hole to where your upper hole was, and vice versa.

Maybe you should learn to type with your posterior, so that you'll contribute something constructive, or do you only ever pop in to make yourself feel superior?

Best,
B.

I will leave anal communications to you, you,re so good. It has never been my intention to ever be constructive unlike yourself and I dont need to pop in where you are concerned.

Happy to be made an offer before I receive any bids. Bargain to some one who just wants a nice pairr of seats in good nick who isn't too worried about originality.

Not very original. Not very clever. Sad, really.
