They look decent. With the black centers, from a later car than my '77? My centers are not painted.

Didnt All the T slot wheels have black painted centers originally?. I was thinking people had just polished them out by preference.

There are two variants early and late there are slight differences in the edges of the T profile as well between early and late

If they have been fitted on a Scimitar then they will have been drilled out to fit the Scimitar wheel studs as they are fractionally different than the TVR not sure exactly by how much that set has been on here before by the time they are bought transported and restored you are into a lot of beer tokens.

Your encyclopedic knowledge of TVR "T" slot wheels is amazing. I always thought that Scimtar, Triumph TR and TVR all used identical hubs and wheel studs with same pcd. In fact they are all "exactly" the same thing. You should go on Mastermind, specialist subject TVR M series wheels 1972 to 1979. Question "what was the difference between the "T" slot wheels used on TVR and Reliant Scimitar"?. Answer "they are fractionally different but by how much I am not exactly sure". Correct!

Welcome Back Steve
From what i understand the Scimitar studs are half inch UNF studs and the TVR are 3/8 UNF hence the difference is slight however enough to require drilling if fitted on a Scimitar hence not ideal when fitted back onto a TVR.
Would love to know differently as its important that we get the information right as some use the internet as fact rather than checking the real experts first wink

Welcome back? I haven,t been anywhere. Nothing wrong with the internet, its those users who regurgitate things in the attempt to appear to have more knowledge than they have. In engineering terms there is a massive difference between 1/2 and 3/8ths. the truth lies inbetween. They are ALL 7/16th.

Yes Steve you are correct 7/16 was what i was meaning to put had just woken up however the importance of the post was not the size but the fact that there is a difference between the two makes and Scimmitar do mostly use 1/2 in
I would usually bow to your superior knowledge however on this one you incorrect.

So, are we to take it that of the two sets of wheels on ebay at the moment one set is an early model T-slot and the other set a later model T-slot, or has one set just had the centers polished out? I can't see any difference in the profile of the 'Ts' either.

this guy, who possibly knows what he's talking about, reckons 1/2" on the Scimitar. Perhaps depends which Scimitar, SE4, 5 or 6 ?

Either way makes no difference to me, already got some and don't want anymore (especially at that price) smile

They were made for Christopher and had to be able to go in the back of his little Corsa.
This allowed him to travel around mixing perfectly good music into a dreadful thumping noise.

Hi all. I know this is an old thread but did anyone know the answer about whether t-slots had black centres originally, or just the early ones - or just the late ones..?
Cheers
