It does seem like an excessive mark-up from the auction result. Or is that the norm?
so after auction fee's it's about 12k ish........plus a wash, transportation, wee fettle, minimal turn around ready for sale say £1k.......so 13k......up for sale at 20k........someone negotiates 18.5 / 19k......that's 5.5k / 6k marginwhich is roughly the margin some the TVR dealers work too
TVR's, especially these early ones are going up in price........fact!
Anyway as already said, it'll probably just sit around for a year until the dealer gives in and sells it for £14-15k. I tried to buy a Turbo a couple of years ago from a dealer who wouldn't let it go for less that £25k. I saw that dealer eventually advertise it for less than I'd offered him for it.

Buy cheap in rural Herefordshire, sell high in leafy Wimbledon. Sounds like capitalism to me!
Trade in all sorts of things has always worked that way, but now the internet makes it harder to keep it secret. He still though only needs one city boy for whom 20k is small change to take a shine to it and the job is, as they say a good 'un. And good luck to him.

Just to update I was talking with Oliver the other day and this car that was at Wimbledon company has been sold and was bought by a Lady on the south coast.
It was at a car show down there that Oliver went to no idea what it sold for and I certainly would not ask But as I said it really had a lovely Patina which you just cant replicate.
So its found a good home and yet another Lady owner Car which is great would be great to see her at the Pre 80s her and Julie could start a Ladies Pre 80s Class
