Polished one of mine up today, came up a treat. The car is clearly worth more dead than alive...

Number 2 (front O/S) removed and similarly cleaned up but on removing front N/S have discovered it is GRP. Have made contact with a foundry who reckon they can cast a new one in aluminium for about £45 using the GRP one as a pattern.

The pattern needs to be filled and smoother and made slightly bigger since the aluminium will shrink slightly.
Foundries usually charge a pattern fee plus a cost per part on a batch basis. some batches smaller than others.
Good luck.

Hi all, just to say ......I have a couple of full sets if anyone's interested ? I also have occasion in my work to deal with foundries, so if you folks think there s a demand, I could use my originals as patterns ?

I'm a member of the Frazer Nash Club who run spares scheme where the club pre -fund and manufacture a short run of parts (where possible using factory drawings) for sale onto club members. Quite often expressions of interest are taken before manufacture starts. They have recently cast new Anzani blocks and wheel hubs. There is now a fairly comprehensive list of spares.

Maybe a classic section of the TVR club could consider the same idea for rare parts which are unattainable elsewhere.

Apart from bumpers Grantura steering boxes could possibly one of the first items.

Any other ideas - uprights?

You would probably need an (Ex) engineer with spare storage space to help run the spares scheme.

I would like to buy a set of these bumpers. How can I make this happen?

They are now available. A chap has produced about 10 sets and was selling for £500 per set. There used to be an e-bay listing but this seems to have disappeared.
If you contact Adrian Venn at Exactly TVR I am sure he will be able to put you in touch with the guy who made them.

Alternatively Adrian also makes Fibreglass ones which can be chrome finished or aluminium painted.

The Contact Number on the E Bay listing for Ian was 07782305891 as it was on the listing I see no reason to pop on here.
The listing has been taken down as I think he either has sold the last set or is down to his last set.

Hi
I know this thread is old now but I wonder if the issue of resupply of Quarter bumpers has been resolved.
I know it’s a long shot but are there any leads to anyone remanufacturing Grantura Quarter bumpers? – I presume Vixen quarter bumpers are the same?
Either cast or fabricated?
The project I am in the process of rebuilding has lost its bumpers in the dim and distance past.

There was a guy who had remanufactuted them and periodically sells them through E Bay. You should be able to find him if you do a search of completed auctions. Various people have had sand cast versions made from originals too
