Just back from the Season opener at Burley House the event was a fantastic success for the TVRCC with the event being well attended and the pre 80s was no exception I have never been to Chatsworth but was told by those that have we got far more pre 80s cars this year than last year at Chatsworth and the Line up in front of the house was nearly complete by names if not by models with the one exception being an early Griffith which would have been nice in its 50th anniversary.
Here are a few pictures and I hope others will add more
The trip up yesterday to Peterborough was great doing the 140miles in 2 hr 15min with very little traffic and still running her in kept the revs within guide lines but the 5 speed box means even 75 to 80 is achievable and keeping her under 3500rpm which as I did the 250mile oil change before I left I would gradually increase from 3000 to 3500
She went like a dream better than ever to very happy.

With an early start I was the first car there for the pre 80s

But soon was joined by Henry in his Beautiful Martin 5 great to see you Mate and the car looking fantastic as usual you have been a busy boy and even a quick polish before others arrived

Soon a few others arrived and the pre 80s end of the Time line was beginning to fill up

We Where beginning to think the time line was going to have to start with the Vixen then we had a great treat and surprise when a couple of special members of the TVR Drivers club turned up which was fantastic to not only see one of the most used and loved Early Granturas but also the Owner as well
Thanks Steve it was great to See you hope you got home safe

There was obviously lots and lots of later model cars and all told the Time line was a great success

As I am not a great fan of signs at shows where cars have a sign saying please don't touch I thought I would try something different and it worked very well and the children where delighted to be able to get in and pretend to drive and all where very careful and well supervised by parents and nothing a clean and hover out wont sort.

So all in all a fantastic event and so pleased that the pre 80s owners put on such a fantastic showing plus a few others that where not in the time line such as Mikes much loved Taimar and Stuarts newly restored Taimar as well

Great to see everyone the cars are not just about the ownership but the great friends that you gain from them

The turn out of the classics was lower than normal at Chatsworth 2013, however there was some interesting ones including 2 Granturas, a Tuscan SE spec :-), Geoffs Taimar, the first Vixen 1300 built and a really nice restored Vixen, there was others there but my memory fails me at the moment, would need to dig the old pics out.

Im just uploading my pics of today then will stick them on the forum.

Yes by the end of the day the cars had despite starting very clean and shiny a layer of dust so a quick dust down was in order before heading home.
One thing I forgot to do was list all the cars and the models and owners names I wonder if anyone can help to do that
I know we had
Grantura MK3 Steve Reid
2 Tuscan V6
Vixen S2 Andrew Gray
1600 M Brian Pailing
Taimar Martin 5 Henry Weedon
2 Taimar Geoff Gwynne
3000S Steve Pailing
3000M Richard Pailing

If anyone has pictures of each one and there owners names as I am terrible at remembering all the names it would be nice to have them all listed here.

Great to have a fabulous turnout of pre-80s cars for the timeline. I didn't get chance to walk the whole car park but it looked like there were quite a few others there as well.

Hope you all enjoyed it.

It was great to see all of the early stuff in the line up.

Goldmember didnt miss a beat, and managed to keep up with the SELNWK group, sort of!

Looking forward to attending more events.

More than happy to take you out for a 'DRIVE'..... the last time I said I would take someone out for a 'spin' I ended up putting my Tuscan backwards into someones front garden!
