My dad has had this car 31 years now sadly it hasn't been used for at least 10 years. But is in good order new engine, great chassis etc. it will be back on the road in the next year or so. We havnt been around old tvrs much for at least a decade just wondering how many early 3000ms were made are they rare? I can only recall seeing 2 others with cortina mk2 back lights.

A few early cars have come up for sale recently both in need of full restorations and we had a beautiful 1600m on the time line at Burley House last weekend in the same colour as your Dads
Keep us posted

Which one was that Andrew? I thought our red one was the only 1600M there?Keep us posted

Thanks, it's in great shape for its age, he carried out a full restoration before it was laid up, it's been replaced by a 4.3 Bv griffith. If he does ever part with it iv told him I want it!
I'm sure I seen the 1600m years ago at Blackpool back home in the 90's.
Il post some more pictures later on

I also own an early 3000M, purchased in kit form Jan / Feb 1973, built by a Blackpool based engineer and first registered in Mar 1973. I've owned it for 4 years now and I'm just starting the restoration. I recently phoned the original owner who said it had made his day to hear it's still in existence - he'd not seen it since it was sold in late '73!
No idea on the numbers of them left, but there seems to be a few in a similar state to mine.

And what about the 2500M ?
Mine has also the cortina lights, and looks exactly the same.
I know that it was the fith number to be built afaik as the chassis number is 2244TM (i think the M began at 2240TM).
It would be great to know how many cars are still runing with the cortina lights...
I think other in France, there are two including mine.
Hoping to read you soon

An old friend had one a while ago. I'm not sure if he's still got it as I haven't seen him for a while.
I think it was an L plate with those back lights.
Scan of an old pic from an early 90s track day at Cadwell.

Although not quite as much roll in ours, and I still want some more neg camber on the fronts.

Mine ??? not a 2500M, a 1600M in the north of France
Do you know what colour that is? Looks very similar to ours but we've not been able to determine what colour it is.Edited by Cerberus90 on Thursday 24th April 21:46

Hello gents,
I bought one five years ago and it is still "under construction".
Hopefully later this year back on the road.
I'm located in Cologne/Germany and will post some pictures after finishing.
I love the version with cortina lights and I'm proud to own one.
Cheers.
Dirk

Welcome to the forum! Keep up the good work and post more pics. We all like pics of restorations going faster than our own!
