Guys, here's my dished Formula steering wheel fitted.

I'm very happy with it. Only thing is the wood colour is light, while my dash is quite dark (walnut).

I may try refinishing the wheel in a darker shade, for a better match.

Or just leave it. I have so many steering wheels and so little time...

Hi Renaldo,

If it helps at all, walnut is one of the few woods that lightens over time with exposure to UV light. Maybe not lighten to the extent of the steering wheel colour but lighter might help.

No reason why you could not sand back to the wood and stain dark to match and re varnish

Thanks for your support, boys.

I've tried the restaining thing before, with a Mountney wheel, and despite my lack of woodworking skills, it turned out rather well. I found getting the right match to be pretty tough though.

I hadn't realized that a stain will look either lighter or darker, depending on the type of wood. (duh!)

This wheel is in very nice shape, so it'll require some careful attention.

I may seek some professional advice. (not psychiatric, but that might help too)
