Thanks for the pic Stevo. And as Chris said - yes please to some more showing the bracket and how you have mounted it please.

And another couple of questions for 2500 Vixen owners...

1. What do you have in the central hole of your main switch plate? Vixens usually had the ignition barrel there but ours are column mounted of course, so what was put in that "ignition" hole as standard?

2. Do all the 2500 Vixens have a brushed chrome-effect strip along the bottom of that switch plate labelling the switches or did some have the original engraved plate?

3. If it was the brushed chrome strip has anyone had a go with finding a replacement?

Hi Richard,

The ignition warning light was put in the central part of the switch plate / panel as far as I can tell. Mine isn't original in that area (or many others) as it has an overdrive switch there. Some of the later Tuscans and S3 Vixens (and no doubt S4s) also had the steering lock / column mounted ignition switch.

Mine has the chrome effect strip along the bottom of the panel but I've no idea if they all had this.

Some pics I've seen of the switch panel seem to be wood or a wood effect on the 2500s. It would be great if someone could clarify this.

I've no idea where a replacement for the chrome strip could be obtained, sorry.

Cheers,

Chris

I've got an indicator warning lamp although my strip still has the ignition label in that position.

David and Steve - thanks a lot for those pix, really helpful. That should sort my throttle linkage and switch plate issues. One other question for 2500 owners, does anyone know a source of the original AC fuel gauge..?

Found temperature and oil pressure gauges amongst a load of vintage tractor spares a few years back, yes they do use them as well as cars! Geoff

Are these hazard switches original? I seem to remember mine had one until it broke. If it is I'd like to get another one. Will Google unless anyone knows where I can get one.
Regards.
Any more pics of my car, just ask. It's not the best but not bad.
