Not where I'd have the heater control valve! biggrin

Little bit of work on the engine bay and it'd be even better.
Bodywork looks great though and the interior doesn't look too bad either, not a fan of wood though.

Stunning example and a low reserve if your looking for a nice example this is a fantastic opportunity don't let the dealers get this one the last two sold ended up with dealers as did a lot of the other pre 80s cars this year

A lovely looking car and getting increasingly hard to find for sale. It's also nice to see something on eBay that is actually being auctioned. I'm sure we'll follow this with interest.

Interesting to see that the reserve has already been met which is a good thing at least those bidding know they have a chance although with 9 days to go I suspect it could well be sold before the end its a rare car and the fact its an early one like he says is unique if it does not double the current price I will be amazed

If the auction runs to the end, it will be good to see a true market price. It's a much better indicator of what these cars are worth compared to guessing value having seen the 'asking' prices from various ads.

Market prices are skewed due to "asymmetric knowledge".

Those of us in the know know that these cars are invaluable not just due to rarity, but also the character these cars have over other mass produced cars of the same era.

The market seems to think differently:
Not known too well
Dogged by a "bad build quality" image (this is really unfair to the older cars)
Not an E-Type, MGB, 240Z, TR4/5/6
Unknown base/residual values.

We need to see some real market data with some graphs to show market place increase.

The website TVR.at I feel is undervaluing the cars and the car's value which only hurts all the owners.

Yes it will be interesting there is a also a partly nearly finished Grantura 1800s also Red coming on the market shortly I was chatting to the owner this morning as he lives in Spain and the car is here so trying to help him regards how we market the car.
From the pictures looks a fantastic opportunity to get a late MG powered car.
The only issue I have with e bay is that it finds the market for those that want an example of a car and have the funds available at that time but excludes those that may have funds tied up elsewhere or need to sell another car to complete the sale.
In many ways marketing a car on say cars and classic with offers over and then a date when it will go to auction ie E bay seems a far better way to market a car these days.
That way you reach all the market and avoids auction fees etc for both buyers and sellers if it went to say Historics
It is rather interesting that the Trade Values our cars higher than we do ourselves as so many have been bought by traders and marked up so the moral there is we all need to realise what we have sorry for those looking to buy I guess they would prefer to hear this after they had found that elusive bargain

sold for £9,587 which I thought was very fair. The deal to move on my 3000M project to free up the cash and space for this didn't materialise, otherwise....

That's interesting! 21 bids from 11 bidders, so presume a realistic market value was achieved at £9,587 - a bit lower than I'd expected. I guess there was a higher reserve as it's now been relisted on eBay and posted on PH. Strange though that eBay shows a Buy It Now of £9,500 (less than previous highest bid) but asking £9,995 on PH confused

There maybe more to this than meets the eye.... anyone know?

I think £9500 is a very fair price i would have expected 11 to 12 for a bookmark car that needed a tidy up

With this one selling at £9500 and the nice alfa engined one a little higher and both cars needing some work then it looks like we have a bench mark for that end of the Vixen prices next we need to see a fully restored concourse car sell to find the top end.
