This Vixen was mentioned a few weeks ago on another thread, I was recently talking to Martin about something else and he mentioned it. Apparently it was actually metallic black, and the engine was a rare BRM twin cam rather than the standard Lotus TC. He said it was rather disappointing, and never performed as well as he had expected.

I would still love to find it though...

Oliver.

Hi Oli. I don't suppose Martin mentioned anything about a BDA Vixen. This article states the BRM was installed in their test car as part of a plan for TVR to market a BDA engine Vixen.

Details not available on DVLA sadly so probably off the road for a long time or exported/scrapped before records were kept

That is my old Vixen! I have been looking everywhere for that! Do you have any more details? I bought that Vixen in 1977, it was then orange rallyfleck with silver roof and sills. Ran it in roadsports and prodsports and hillclimbs. I have many photos if this is anybodys......... I repainted it regal red with beige model band. Sold it in 1980 i think...

Hi Steve,

No he didn't mention it, we just briefly touched on this car as being the one and only TC Vixen the factory built. From his reaction to the car I suspect the answer is that they didn't build a BDA one, but I will try to ask the question if I speak to him again.

Oliver.
