[quote=GTRene]It is indeed a bit over-engineered, but also nice to get a look at all details, and or how someone came with solutions in some area's et I guess, but lucky for some?, the last few pictures :-)
But a good idea to include the link for more info about the build of the car, I place that also.
Strange he did not use both of the rear shock mounts. Can't be for weight reason, as a lot of stuff in there, very over engineered i.e. heavy.
Thing is in the US SCCA, you can do a lot more to a car that you can over here and still be allowed in a "Historic" type race. One example being most chuck rear disc conversions on them. Mate's Griff (imported Farrell Preston's very rapid racer), that had the same. But the front setup was horrible small vented discs (same size as the fronts on the rear), and some scrap yard 4 pots off a big Jag, brakes were least impressive part of the car. Uprights off something else and castor (the lean back) in them made steering crazy heavy. Mind it was crashed and lot of this stuff was going to be sorted when back on track.
Mind the Zappa car has really top end bits on just a lot look nuclear bomb proof.
Pity you were not at HARC Meeting in Zandvoort last month. I was racing my TR6 there, could have said hi.

The last time I was in Zandvoort CPZ was 2010 I believe, would be nice to see so many classic racers and also speak to some I ‘know’ a bit from PH and from DF (Driving-fun.com) But sadly, mainly my mind works against me and the last few years it becomes very rare that I go further then say 20km from were I live if I go out my house, not good but hey, maybe a time in the future I will again go out the door more , as I did in my ‘better’ days, here’s hoping, maybe I need a second 'hit' from a windmill

Race yesterday in Griff a total washout (Silverstone GP track) - not ideal for a learning a silly power tiny wheelbase race car...

I will take a note about that HARC event in 2016.Race yesterday in Griff a total washout (Silverstone GP track) - not ideal for a learning a silly power tiny wheelbase race car...
In the rain with such powerful short wheelbase Griff, it could be very 'scary' slippery on a track, not only when using the power, also when shifting back etc.
At CPZ (Zandvoort) its also very slippery on at least 3 or 4 points on the circuit when its wet/raining, it then is a bit more exhausting to drive, especially with a 'older' RWD short wheelbase car and wide rear tires
sometimes its 'fun' but I rather like it dry, so the limits are further away and you can trust your instincts more and have a better connection with the car and road.

JonIt's hardly raining! You need some lessons from Jonnie Wheeler who was 3 secs quicker in much worse conditions

Some tips when you have to drive in the wet, short shift, set the suspension up softer then usual the same for the anti-roll bars, lower the tire pressure, keep track of all your settings, this way you will build up a profile of the cars behavior and you will see that you will go more and more to the front.

Yep…They are very squirrely in the wet..Mine is soft but very short and very much a handful…Mr Ellison probably has 100hp more than mine so will be even more fun…..I reckon the slightly longer cars would be much easier to handle…Our little plastic rockets don't have the widow maker reputation for nothing It's hardly raining!
