what a great looking Griffith and what a story whit Gerry Marshall behind the wheel in your car, wow.
Just to tell not only the half story: because of my poor practice session result – this was mixed up with Gerrys brilliant figures and brought us at least in a middle field position for the start. Chris always said "If you are in the sh.., you´ll get the sh..!" (... seems to be a standard mantra for motorsport people!). Today it sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy. Indeed Gerry had a collision with a Marcos approxm. 50m after the start and the car ends up in the wall. So my first race finished with very mixed feelings for me. Gerry was very concerned and he apologized several times that it happens (also a week later in a very kind letter) and he tried to explain to me how it has come to the collision. That all happens on my birthday-weekend when I actually started a new decade in my life with historic motorsport. The people on the second photo are from left to right hand: Ron/DG Motorsport, Gerry, Detlef, Bettina and me, Chris and Julian/DGMotorsport and my daughter Anna.
ow...that was bad luck, sorry to see the car that way, shattering a could be great story, with that man behind the wheel in your car racing, remembering all the pictures in TVR books were Gerry goes side ways all the way so to speak.
of course, those things happen, especially in races, although it hurts sometimes to see it happen with such great cars.
good pictures though, also the last picture, great to see from that period more then 20 years ago.

Arnfield,
Looking through my photos It looks as though I saw Gerry race a Griffiths at Snetterton in 1991.
I'll try and upload some photos.

Rob
Rob, all photos from Gerry racing with TVR Griffith are interesting. My story is from October 1993, not from 1991. Anyway I am looking forward seeing your pics. Regards ArnfriedLooking through my photos It looks as though I saw Gerry race a Griffiths at Snetterton in 1991.

hi rob, the orange one is HYA and the yellow one is DRT, owned and raced by ronnie farmer to become the fia european champ, can't remember when. as for HYA it won the british championship on a number of times in various hands including nigel reubens. this is how we knew them and still do today. best regards keith

Thank you Keith. That´s what I also thought. The orange Griffith was Ronnie Farmers standard roadsport car, the yellow one the FIA car. Here is another picture, I guess from 1990 or 1991 from the Oldtimer GP. Best regards, Arnfried
