Pardon for being years behind on catching up..
This is a 'chopped'(home-modified) bonnet to help with cooling during racing...there are lots of period photos of it (or an identical one!) competing...clearly it has been 'grilled' to use on the road at some point. I'm sure someone will locate a pic and put it on here. Where is it now?

There is a similar modification on Roger Stanger's Mk1 but I don't think it is that car. See page 164 Filby the early years. Does anyone know more about the car - I assume it an early Grantura?
