One recently seen on another group. The story about the car in front but noticed the TVR behind.

Very very nice. I guess this is a Grantura rather than a Griffith - never too sure on how to tell the difference. Do you compete in any championship?

Thanks, yes it’s a MK2a Grantura with MK3 front so a bit of mongrel. It has been stripped ready to race by the previous owner, but then left to stand for 10 years before I bought it earlier this year as a non-runner.

I’ve had a couple of false starts with specialist garages to help me get it recommissioned and ready to race, but hope to get it back running in the new year.

The plan is to join the CSCC and go racing as its eligible for their Swinging 60s championship.

I’m afraid I don’t know Roger S.

From early 00s it was restored by a Charles S from a red coloured donor car to what you see now. He bought it from a deceased estate, where the car had been off the road since around 1985 (only known due to last tax disc in the window).

Charles sold in 2010 to Amos R who just stored it, then I bought it.

I do know the surnames of folks above, just concealing for their privacy. Anything prior to 2005 is unknown other than the tax disc, so any info welcome.

Tony Cerulli's Buick powered Griffith named "Disturbed" at Dover Drag Strip in Wingdale, New York around 1966/67.
I know this is a pretty old post, but I just found it. Tony Cerulli is my father! He is always talking about his racing days and the Griffith. I don't know if you are still on this topic or whatever but I can get you in touch with him.

@apc0716

I’d love to see a bunch more photos of your dads drag racing Griffith and the story behind it. Looks like a brutal racer!

w.r.t the pics of classic TVR VWX891F, it is actually a SWB V8 Tuscan, and NOT a Griffith. Owned by me for many years and with extensive period competition history. Only 4 RHD versions built, this car is the last one made.

H Nick, I send you a mail back, same info as here though.

Some lovely TVR's you've owned and I saw when looking in that thread, I posted your old car on 3 pages, the 2 early pages, page 20 and 54 were I could not see the rear so I thought a Griffith, though the later page 127 I had it right.

I corrected all pages incl some what more of the info you shared, you can see them here.

I also looked on my USB stick and I had 3 pictures under the Griffith map

and 4 pictures of that car in the Tuscan V8 map, so I also replaced those 3 from the Griffith map to the Tuscan V8 map :-)

Thanks for the notice.

greetings, René

here are the pictures I have

Haven't been able to find any other pics of this - so would be interesting to find out if it is in fact a TVR

Looks like it could be one of the very early chassis from when they were selling them with 3rd party fibreglass bodies. Looks like it could be a micro-las mistral

Thanks for sharing these fantastic photos in one place.

Really, really evocative seeing the 60's cars parked up in the background of what looks to be a grassroots motorsport event. I wonder where that was? It sets the scene perfectly and the Tuscan itself looks awesome.

I also love the shot using all the kerb (and quite a lot more). Fantastic.

Novice question (shoot me down in flames) but is this a swb or lwb Tuscan? I can't decide which. I thought having Cortina Mk2 rear lights would make it lwb but the doors look swb type.
