why don't they make such cage more as high as the inside of the roof (almost), gives some extra protection and not that in sight I guess.

L66-525 no longer exists. It was the car's Maryland registration which became defunct when I registered it in the UK in 2007 ish

And yes that is it being drag raced by Jim Bianco in 1971.

If it is then it went indeed to many changes seeing the pictures I also posted about JNP-626C the colour looks almost 'the same' but the rest many other details, better.
