It will be interesting to see how the Gilbern fares against the Granturas and MGBs....................
Mike is quite a good pedaller but the Cottingham MGB is very quick. Paul Fox is also pretty useful in his G4 but I suspect the straight line speed of Alan's Iso will see off most of the field.

I've never paid to watch a match either, I went to FOS 2006 and that was fantastic, it was also the year I did Le mans and Silverstone.
I guess I need to go too at least one Revival before making a price moan.
Sold out anyway, so maybe next year.
To be fair I really don't think £44 is out of the way to walk in, for a race meeting that's like, a million times better than a Grand Prix.

Very good point someone else made though - just go and park up for free (will they let you though, without some sort of pass stuck to the windscreen?) and avail yourself of the aircraft, the outer retail stalls and car parks with some of the best motor cars you're ever likely to see in one place. smile

last year i went at the last minute as i wanted to get some miles on my 968

the general public car park areas were free, no pass needed

and there is no restriction to just walking around the pre 72 parking area, and some stalls etc. Better than most other classic cars shows for the array of classics alone

Fiscracer,

I'd be extremely grateful if you could e-mail me the Revival entry list. Not sure if it's possible to upload pdf here.

It's a quite nice selection of cars for the Fordwater Trophy in my opinion, and a nice complement to the RAC TT Celebration race. Nice to see Goodwood mixing it up and letting new cars get a shot.

In what respect? As far as I'm aware the cut-off date for the Revival grid has not changed.

No of course, you're right.

What I mean is that Fordwater Trophy is one of the races where they actually invite a different grid of cars (almost) every year. Most of the other races are quite static in regards of cars and drivers.

Last time out there were late fifties GTs; 2012 "race-inspired" GTs with the 26R Elans and Ginetta G10s; 2011 E-types, and 2010 the sub-1500 cc special-bodied cars etc etc.

There is no doubt they are mixing it up. The introduction of the 72nd Members Meeting has meant some usual participants have been dropped and I can see some races being 'one year on, one year off'. I know of a number of people who have not had an invite this year. If you weren't aware there is a D type race this year and one to celebrate 50 years of the Mustang albeit with Falcons, Darts and a couple of Barracudas as well.

Nice for those watching but hard for those that have been left out on the Car that Mike brought to the 72nd meeting it is there as you said No7 but they have the owners name listed wrong kirk Green is a 50% owner with an American Co Owner Not Mike he just built it with a team before Kirkmichael Motorsport closed the engine has been re built since and some other work so fingers crossed they will fair better than at the 72nd meeting.

Interesting that there are 3 Granturas in the Fordwater and I've been trying to get ours in for a couple of years, despite it winning the race overall a few years back in the hands of Ian Bankhurst.

I got in touch last eyar and provided all the info on the new owners and more info on the car yet the phone didn't ring.

They have however said that we will be considered for future events. I was disappointed as clearly winning the race holds no favours for future entries and GR was one of the reasons we purchased the car although I understand that nothing in this area of racing is guaranteed, LMC included.

I understand, yes some of the races remain static but others alternate year on year between 50s decade cars and 60s decade cars.

I may be wrong but i think Goodwood it may be the colour of the School Tie of the Owner as much as the car itself but i may be wrong but its still a fantastic event

last year was interesting, with the very rare Ginetta G10 v8 leading the fordwater race until it lost a wheel (car is now for sale incase anybody has a space 150k lying around)

That Ginetta G10 V8 is a right little monster, really like it ! But if I'm not mistaken it lost a wheel two editions ago ?

Fantastic Day here are a few pictures an early start and was on the field just after 7.30 but as I was only going for one day this year I wanted to see as much as possible.

Great to see the Ecosse transporter I thought it had gone abroad after it sold at Bonhams last year

Sorry about the quality of the picture Richard Pavey with his Grantura Mk2a

Great to Meet The Timelord on here from Cornwall looking so well after his brain surgery lovely to meet you.

I do love the way you can get so close to the action at Goodwood in a way that you cant get elsewhere or at least I have not experienced yet elswhere

And Goodwood do it all so well

TVR even represented in the Hall

Who let the St Trinians kids out

Anyone for tennis

These next two are a show grid of cars raced by Sir Jackey Stewart interesting to see how diverse they where fantastic to see them all together

Good to see the TVRs in action only two as Kirks car was replaced by a Lotus not sure why.

The last few hours where spent in the pits working on Richards MK2a 4 years ago when I first went to the Revival I did not think 4 years later I would be stripping the shocks off a car in the Pits but in good old fashioned club racing he is there on a budget and no back up crew so while he sorted the cooling system I took off the shocks and re set them as the car was dipping all over the place on the corners and he has not had any track time since buying the car and they where set so soft and one was shot so I put on the opposite side where it wont be needed as badly however we wont know until sunday if its helped but hats of to him for just getting the car there.
The white overalls are not so white anymore

So all told a great day and being able to help a little was the icing on the cake

Fingers crossed the rest of the weekend goes ok

Andrew

Also good to see Richard out even if not in his TVR I am sure he will have some great Video as he has some fancy new cameras on so something to look forward to

So are you going to apply to enter the M Racer in the 73rd GRRC meeting they had races for 70s cars in which the Capris where eligible last year so your M would have been eligible that would be fantastic.
