It's got nothing to do with old school ties Andrew.
So are you going to apply to enter the M Racer in the 73rd GRRC meeting they had races for 70s cars in which the Capris where eligible last year so your M would have been eligible that would be fantastic.A

On motors TV live now...
Yes its streamed live all weekend I will be watching tomorrow to see how the Grantura goes with the Shock adjustment the commentator yesterday thought the suspension had broken it was so bad but as they cant test before the race it fingers crossed for the adjustment but anything will be better than yesterday as she was like a boat in a storm going round the cornersA

Great pics from our roving reporter Andrew.
The Jackie Stewart Marcos looks like the one auctioned at the end of July...
and I didn't know a Stag Fastback / Coupe even existed until this afternoon.
Many thanks for a fascinating thread.
Chris
I wondered who would spot that well done I thought I would make no comment and see who spotted it The Jackie Stewart Marcos looks like the one auctioned at the end of July...

A great event as always. Spotted three old TVRs over the road, a lovely white granny which is featured in the "early photos" thread, the 1800s OLO which is also in the thread in the Octane mag feature with Steve's red mk3. Also spotted a red Vixen s2 which is one I haven't seen before - does it belong to anybody on here?

The red one's mine, imported back from Belgium....complete with flapping bonnet and a few niggles that the M25 threw up! A

Sadly the white Grantura only lasted 3 laps before disappearing in terminal engine smoke, think the series 3 Grantura finished 6th. one of the post event highlights was watching lots of race cars driving out of the circuit along the roads to get back to the campsite where their transporters were parked! Geoff

Rocker cover gasket was leaking oil over the exhaust manifold thus loads of smoke.Got back from Goodwood last night and having been since the beginning can see that every year it goes up another level. Get the impression that it has every opportunity to implode as an event if it continues to become more and more "corporate" with several levels of VIPness ( is that a proper word?) and the rest.
How can they allow certain people to the presentation but not allow long standing GRRC members who were the very people who enabled Lord M to "Revive" the Revival. Even race team members were excluded, in my opinion the wrong people to disenfranchise.
The standard of preparation in the paddock is exemplary so I can't believe the Andrews post about the white Grantura. It's terrifying that car was racing when it would appear the owner had never even checked the suspension. On which corner of a race car does a shock absorber do the least work? On a torsion bar Grantura the suspension is massively weakened by shock absorber failure. I certainly wouldn't have been stood on the outside of Woodcote had I known!
It makes you wonder how it got an entry when race proven cars were rejected. Kind of makes you feel short changed when you pay to get in to see a car that may do a few laps trundling round when you go to see properly prepared cars racing. Surely the owner should have retired the car if it was so dangerous and poorly prepared.
Gripe over it's still the best UK event.
ps, pity I could have fetched him some correct Konis had I known, and no VW beetle ones aren't correct.
