i plan to fit a manual choke to my DGAS carb to be sure the choke shuts off correctly.
Have others fitted a Manual Choke kit

Guess you answered your own question I have automatic choke works fine sometimes you have to blip the throttle to cut off but that's fine she is an old girl

I have replaced the whole carb for a 2.8 Cologne with a 38DGMS which is manual choke version from factory - you can see that it's just a different bracket set.

I have also ( a long time ago) changed over a Scimitar with a manual choke kit, and it worked great, and fixed the problem with choke not releasing.

Put a manual conversion on my Taimar, I like the idea of "being in charge" and knowing what it's doing.

Simple little kit, think I found it on Ebay.

that's how i think and i have ordered a kit.
I want the engine to run as clean as possible.
The auto choke is in a high position and i would not like the possibility of a little airlock plus not sensing temp correctly.
The last thing i want it to do is run rich
