I have known this car and the owner for a few years. He was going to sell for a lot less until we had a chat about it. He was very pleased with the sale price.
It is an older restoration but required some work to body cracks and bit of t l c. Hideous plastic bumpers would be first on my list.
This one is now a real test of the market; dealer vs private; and that old chestnut "worth".

people are always suggesting an ebay listing would determine the true value of a car in the current market
I dont see how it can e bay only shows who is interested and can put there hands on the money that week the seller of the 1800s when i spoke with him wanted to put it on e bay i said that the only way i would list a car on e bay was to advertise the car for at least 4 to 6 weeks elsewhere then list the car with a starting price of the highest price offered in that 6 week period and then notify all the people that viewed the car it was on e bay That way you have a True market price IMOP

i think i understand you.. had to read that a few times
have read on this forum that people suggest ebay can be a true reflection of current market prices.. not necessarily my view
anyway main point is the dealer markup which is purely to make a quick buck
IMHO , ofcourse...
