Long shot probably, but i would like an early(ier) tvr than i currently have, ie cerb and on-going taimar project which is actaully my wifes.....
Tuscan v6 would be an ideal stablemate , anything out there that is potentially coming up for sale ??

Cheers sandy

Jeez, i think i have missed the boat guys, i turned down a sound v6 Tuscan for £5K 5 years ago because of my fairly recent, at the time, purchase of the Taimar. Same story i suppose as me selling my Healey 100M for divorce money 14 years ago...

Cheers Sandy

Here is one of the cars that sold in the last year the gear box was not working along with a lot of other things and the new owner is doing a fantastic restoration with the body off at the moment and a lot of time and cost being done on her.

Early Cars have at least Doubled in 5 years
Is that correct? I paid £8k for my Vixen 4-5 years ago. Ignoring the advertised prices but taking notice of the actual paid prices at auction or on Ebay similar cars have recently fetched £9-£10k. This is way short of the £16k suggested. I've spent £6-7k on improving mine and would like to think realistically may be worth £12-13k if I wanted to sell it.... which I don't. But I would be very surprised if it was worth more.

I don't think I paid over the top when purchased. I do think quick acting dealers buying cars that come up, sticking a large mark-up on it and re-advertising it within days is skewing people's view of what these cars are really worth. Anyone can see many such cars that have sat at the dealer for many months and often years that have not sold.

here is some price guide, of course its what a car nut wants to pay, but it can come in handy, search your classic TVR and click on the year you want, after that you see what the average price was and in what condition etc>

Like most stuff on the internet I wouldnt take that list too seriously. Its got driveable MK1 Grannies valued at the price of what a basket case and some boxes of bits cost laugh

Buy a Tuscan V6? I think you'll have more of a chance finding a V8, there are probably more of them around if you include conversations.

That puts a Class 1 condition 69 V6 Tuscan at £42k and the average at over 20k i rest my case however not sure how they get there figures from as private sales never get added to statistics
A
Saying That i put the Vixen and the 3000s in and there data is way out of what they are selling for relying on the internet is not always or for that matter ever a good idea
A
Don't know, they use 4 graduations for the cars and they see/tax? them on US soul I guess.
Its also more of a guide line, if you look at the line from 2007 to 2014 a lot makes sence.

but as always, its what the buyer is willing to pay or what the seller is willing to let it go for.

Yup, at the Pre 80s meetings there was one Tuscan V6 and two Tuscan V8s - one a converted Vixen S3 and the other a converted Tuscan V6. It is reckoned there are only around 50 Tuscan V6s left (out of the original 101), and most owners don't want to sell.

Ok, as i have already admitted i have probably missed the boat with regard to a normal "working man" now being able to purchase a Tuscan in any shape or form..

The car came out of the blue, just had a look on car and classic this afternoon, and David Geralds had quite literally that minute listed the car. Its not perfect by any stretch, and has some minor mods etc, but i liked it instantly and the price i thought from a Dealer was very fair indeed. (read---bought unseen and on pure instinct only....fate even..) wink Hope none of you shoot me down with any horror stories of this car !biggrin
