planet gear shims
Discussion
Hi!
Mine have worn... away! And now when setting off I get alot of juddering.
After looking at the tr register and obtaining a copy of the "brown book" and other threads, people have replaced these without removing the crown and pinion from the casting.
Has anybody got any advice/done this?
All the other internals look great.
The backlash has been checked and in tolerance, I'm led to believe its 0.004 to 0.006 and mines 0.004.
I know mechanical sympathy is always great and general idea from the tr forum is (as always) isn't broke; don't fix, but if it's a relative easy job I shall seek help and attempt.
Looking at the diagrams, remove locking pin, remove shaft the gears are on, rebuild with shims and sorted.
Sounds easy.... :-/
