great, needed lots of love by the looks of it, but all is there I guess.
History Brother not anymore the car went to one place the engine another and I guess the car is either restored or being restored and the engine rebuilt and somewhere else

That was the black vixen you sold my boy then Adrian!!! When we washed it all the bright green paint fell off. The engine was a proper race engine twin 40s .wing sump and good crank , car sold to Germany ,engine sold on ebay to race guy.
Yes, as I said, as a twin cam, it was a super 'thought', and I thought (IF I am honest) that I could attach some kind of real history in the connection of the two...but for that to happen (and with the fact that over time TVR would err to the right side of paperwork by listing the correct 'model' engine size, even when the car might be 'badged' as a different thing) not one person I spoke to could put a twim cam in a car at the point of build.

I like Steve's Sprint/Super sprint options...a way forward for the OP

They were Speedwell tuning parts and I am fairly sure I have a factory Vixen S2 price list offering them as an option.
This sounds promising, if you could find anything I would be very interested.

Thanks to all for their contributions.

So, with a additional facts coming to light, the BRM version (with the reg. that we see in the magazine) was Martin's in house conversion, and driven as his personal car. The link with Speedwell happened because there was already a connection with Martin and one of their employees at the time (John Brooman who had been a mechanic with Martin when he was racing) Martin recollects that perhaps 6 cars were sent there, to be converted in to either Sprints or Supersprints, most of these were thought to be as such, kit cars.
For the OP...Here is link to more information on Speedwell (Mostly BMC stuff, but under the ownership of Graham Hill and a mixing with other from TVR's past)

They were not in "Sprint" or "Super Sprint". They were called Sprint and Supersprint depending on state of tune. Sprint had modded cam , head and few other bits. Super Sprint had the above but with twin 40 DCOEs and some othe minor mods.
Sorry to sound a bit dim but you have lost when you refer to Sprint and Supersprint, could you expand please?

From What I can work out the super sprint is much to what Alan built my Vixen to when it was rebuilt I think the Engine was the only place there where upgrades but Vixen came as

Vixen Sprint

Vixen Supersprint

"In April 1969 TVR announced that Vixens can now be purchased with a modified engine by Speedwell, fully balanced, machined Pistons and block, ported and polished head etc to produce 100 bhp. Price over standard £138.12.0.

115 bhp engines are obtainable for another £94 over and above the above price of 100bhp

Vixens fitted with either of the above engines will have seat belts and leather rim steering wheel included.

The 100 bhp car is designated the Vixen S2 Sport and the 115 bhp car designated the Vixen S2 Super Sport"

I apologise if this is helpful, I promise never to do it again

Ps the first documented record of. Lotus twin cam being fitted to a Vixen was by Martin Cundey in January 1970 and had nothing whatsoever to do with the factory.

That's very helpful, thank you, it is like gold dust to me.
I could do with some sort of document to show to the technical scruteneers, if I could find something I would be home and dry.

I'm sorry if you took one of my replied as being sarcastic? .... it certainly wasn't intended.
