That is an in-line valve than will fit on any pipe 'inline'...unless it is fitted in the carb choke pipework (then it would need a by-pass with an internal restrictor).

BUT, that cannot screw to anything...it is what it is an in-line unit, the OE unit for the 2500 screws to the head and is a cheaper by some margin (and as a new unit, it would work! lol as the OE unit has a alloy stopper that fails after about 20 years!!).

A common upgrade on US TR6's is to upgrade the valve to one used on many domestic vehicles of the vintage, the generic part is Everco/Heater Control Valve Part# 74648. For instance, it's used on 60-65 AMC vehicles and 61-70 International Scouts. These are a direct fit other than the outlet is slightly larger, but the stock hose can be stretched over it, and the cable either needs to be bent around the actuation pin or an eyelet soldered on (what I did). These are MUCH easier to operate than the stock TR6 item.

Picture ripped from a TR6 supplier, the adapter is shown in the pic is standard TR6 issue and should be easy to source.
