I thought I remembered the cracked bonnet from somewhere. Where was it for sale last time?

Strange this time round….the usual suspects found it, didn't really want to buy it, weren't prepared to put their money where their collective gobs were and now want to complain because someone other than them did…
as a log book and id tag with some original parts it is worth more broken!! whinge a bit more guys and no doubt the next time it is seen it will be £6k

To be fair, the gearbox was said to be knackered and the engine really looked like it had seen better days. I don't suppose either will be missed! This is one of those projects where just about everything will need to be rebuilt or replaced, and although it looks bad, a car that perhaps didn't look so bad, but was going to be thoroughly overhauled anyway, would cost more or less the same to rebuild. I hope someone picks it up and gets on with it. Then posts on here.

How much if that would actually be salvageable and is it possible to get new bodywork for these? If it were me I'd try and get the sun roof filled in and paint it a lairy colour such as lime green or orange.

Mentioned on here I'd love a project but I'm not in the position at the moment. Doesn't seem as appealing at the newer price with the admittedly shagged original parts missing!

Seems a shame that it's been pillaged for parts. It would be great to see it restored and painted Old English white, with Cosmic alloys. smile

All the bits that are required to build a car are there..Namely Body, Bonnet, Doors, door frames and Bumpers…
The rest would be replaced and renewed.

Thats a 20k car to build when the cost of the log book is factored in.

Car was originaly yellow, before being painted red.

The original engine is avalible from a 3rd party for £500, when I looked in to it I was suprised how much they fetch (theres one currently on ebay).

As for the body it looks ok and the bonnet is repairable.

According to AC Roney's site it is now sold. I really hope it gets restored and not broken for parts. I've often wondered how many right hand drive 2500s were made and how many are left. Anyone have any ideas?

Well I suppose I'd better own up - I bought it last week and it was delivered last night. Most of it's there except the engine and box but those are relatively easy to source. Chassis needs a blast and paint, the body is basically sound; couple of cracks to repair but that's the beauty of fibreglass, no tiresome welding! Wish me luck!

Best of luck!

I know a couple of the members on here would like to see a build-thread if you're feeling generous!

Have a great Christmas!
