Dry run with the front suspension as the shocks and springs arrived today. Discovered that both uprights have LH threads...
Are you doing 20 hour days or something? Jees its like Challenge Anneka without the Anneka bit.
Very impressive. I'm half an hour away if you need someone to slow you down.

Only weekends at the mo until the light gets better, need to get it rolling around as short of space so just flinging it together temporarily and working out what's missing (a lot). By all means drop by if you're passing, especially if you know how to repair sunroofs...

Rear end comes together, going to need some judicious packing here and there but generally it lines up OK. UJ's on the driveshafts next, I love doing UJ's.

Engine back from the menders so wrestling with thrust washers and circllips. The Triumph 6 is the only engine I know that contains bits of wood. Always makes me laugh when I open the gasket set. Finished the dry run on the front end and all seems OK . Just need to get new quill shafts, put the tyres on, bolt on the wheels and she'll be ready to take the engine. Quick T-cut and the body can go on and then.......... well, perhaps a bit more than T-cut...

Two years later, end in sight. Stitching seat covers and covering door cards at the mo as waiting for driver's door handle to come back from the chromers before I can build up the door. Have bought a better sewing machine so I can do fancy embroidery round the carpet binding. It gives you something to take your mind off the hell on earth that is Christmas.

It's great to see your 2500 nearing completion. I take my hat off to you for all the hard work you've put into it. Know what you mean about Christmas though smile

I have the same car (same color even) with 16K original miles on it. Never restored just as it came from the factory. Let me know if you want any photos for reference if you are interested in originality.

It would be nice if you are not already on there to have lots of pictures of the car on the Vixen Register for others to see and use for reference

Thanks 280i, what I'm really in need of is interior pictures to show how to cut the carpets. I need to work out which are stuck to the body, which are loose and where the overlaps and joins should be. Also, which had sound deadening underneath and which didn't. If you could post interior pictures, that would be great.

Thanks Chris, planning a sneaky road test while it's quiet over Xmas (once I've put some brake fluid in....)
