I've heard on the grapevine there will be at least one MkIII 1800 and possibly one or two MkIII or Mk2/2a. Not had any info on the competition yet. Looking forward to it!

I have not seen the entry list for the Les Leston Cup yet but I know that Will Penrose is running his MkIII - the dark red one that failed in practice last year.

There are three Mk3 Granturas in the Les Leston Cup - Rod Begbie, Will Penrose and Ivan Dutton

The might be 3 MGBs too if I can rebuild the engine that threw a rod in testing at Goodwood this afternoon

Apparently the entry list says it is a 1960 MkIII. I wonder if that's a misprint as TVR didn't even start making the Mk2a until 1961.

He did buy that Blue MK2 lightweight that was for sale at Historique for ages. That car needed restoring but i suppose he must have restored it over the last year, he had it at the VSCC opener last year or the year before, used to be regd AUD 100

Nice car - I wonder if he has managed to refit a Coventry Climax engine.

May have to get tickets!

More like a type 37 engine, or even a spare type 35B wink

I was going to say that there was a clue in the title, they are trying to replicate the BARC right crowd and no crowding, however it appears some tickets are available, but at a no crowding price.

Got this one. All the TVRs did fantastically well in qualifying with two sharing the front row of the grid for todays Les Leston. Trophy race.

Looks like a good restoration compared to its condition at the Spring Start VSCC meeting in 2013. Does it still have an
A series engine. .

There are a few photo of this and the MK3's on the Goodwood website.

I think this is the same car in the six hours relay Silverstone 12th August 1961.

With twin narrow stripes rather than one thick band (as shown in other period photos).

Photo taken by John Hendy - indicated on the photo - John Woolfe, 1588cc.

A bit of in car for you from my MGB. Would have loved to have run the Grannie and given Rod and Will some competition. Those Elites are a bit quick for 1216cc

I found another good photo of Ivan Dutton's Mk2

(source Caferoadster.com - I think the photo was taken by Ben Samuelson).

There appears to be details of the history on the winscreen - I assume it is AUD10 0 ex John Woolfe 7/C/ 238. Ex Factory lightweight. However the post by Richard above says John's car was registered 1226 RO is this a different car. The old 'Grantura registry ' refers to a Mk2a also being raced by John Woolfe 7/C/345 ( originally Grey). Is 1226 RO still around.

Arnold Burton was a partner in John Woolfe racing so I guess John may have had access to more than one Grantura.

Anyone read the history on the windscreen!

Rob

Picture from Klaus Witzig's Grantura site. Mallory Park July 1961.

The photo show Keith Aitchison's car with modified bonnet and the Grantura with twin stripes. The registration is very faint but could it be 122- --. Is this the 'other' John Woolfe car.

The other Grantura is parked next to the Research Garage pick up - is this the Oakes Richards car 1886 UE.
